Torchwood - S02 E13 - Exit Wounds (spoilers)

I really liked this season. Am I the only one?

Great episode. I suspected that the BBG would be Jack's brother once Capt. John Hart mentioned he was being controlled. I did think Jack forgave his brother too quickly for burying him but I guess if Jack thought he deserved it then it makes sense.

At first I thought Rhys would did this season because I felt he wasn't adding anything but they did a good job making him interesting.

It hasn't been canceled has it? I was totally surprised that they killed Owen and Toshiko (good death scenes). Usually shows only do something like that if they're ending. Looking forward to next season (if there is one).

I enjoyed it too, and felt the characters were a little more involving than the first season. The deaths were well done, but Toshiko's video they found helped pack a little more whallop to both.

One small thing... Jack aged almost another 2000 years this episode. Be interesting to see if that is taken into account if he mentions how old he is in future episodes.

I think they forgave Spike WAY too easily. Of COURSE he had a choice, he could sacrifice himself to save however many hundreds or thousands of people died in those explosions, etc.

The rumors about next series however say that the loss of Tosh and Owen were done to make the series more kid friendly, more in line with the Who-niverse since the show has proven a success.. oh and to give Martha Jones a spot on the team since Owen would have filled the same role.

There is also rumor of Cap'n Jack's imminent departure leaving Gwen and Ianto as the only remaining members.. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Hopefully, these rumors are false. I like that they handle more mature topics.

The kids already have Dr Who and the Sarah Jane adventures.

Waiting to see.

A lighter Torchwood would hold a heck of a lot less interest to me. I have enjoyed this series more than Dr. Who and Sarah Jane because it is a show that delves into more mature topics and doesn't always have a nice neat ending.

I think Owen as the dead man walking had kind of played itself out, especially since they made it clear he could never repair damage to his body. Makes it tough to keep him going and just degrading further and further. Tosh had tragic endings with people she fell for, I don't think it would have made sense her continuing with Torchwood after Owen's destruction (can't call it death) even if she had survived.

As for Spike sacrificing himself, my impression of him from the first time we met him in the season opener is that he isn't exactly the self-sacrificing type. I agree the turnaround from the Torchwood team was a little too quick, but it is only a one hour show, so I'm willing to let it go.

Oh no. I would hate for a lighter show. Though i don't see dr. who as aall that light most of the time, torchwood was a tad into the darkness that i needed. Like the early episodes of Angel. I'd be intersted to see if thye don't reverse one of the two deaths through the rift.
