The bolt almost decapitates TLC! (Rolled natural 19, 11 crit roll)

8 points of damage! TLC escapes utter death and his fate in the stew pot.

"The winnah, by standard victory after 3 rounds, Laaaaaaancelaaaaaaaaa!"

"That concludes our quarterfinal matches for the day. Come back next week for our semifinal matches which feature:

Lawful Good vs. Chaotic Neutral
Neutral Good vs. Lawful Evil

The Lawful Good representative will decide which match takes place first."

(One week later.)

“Ladies, gentlemen, and genderless creatures! Welcome back to our first semifinal match of the CR 1 edition of the Tournament of Champions! This match features the best of the Neutral Good forces against the best of the Lawful Evil forces.”

Making his way into the arena and starting at position 115N60E, this combatant measures 7 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 265 pounds. He has an impressive record of four wins, one loss, and zero draws. His last victory was over Neutral Evil’s broodling kython. Representing the forces of Neutral Good, please welcome the half-giant Huuuuuujarrrrrrrrrrrrlk!”

Hujarlk enters to the cheers of the Neutral Good faction of the audience. He wears scale mail and has an unusually big javelin strapped to his side. He holds an unusually big great sword in his two powerful hands.

“Now making his way into the arena and starting at position 0N0E, this combatant measures 4 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He is undefeated with a record of two wins, zero losses, and one draw. His last victory was over Chaotic Good’s domovoi. Representing the forces of Lawful Evil, please welcome the duergar Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrek!”

The polite applause of the Lawful Evil faction accompanies Drek the Duergar’s entrance. Bald and gray, he wears drab chain mail with a heavy shield strapped to his back. A war hammer hangs from his belt as he loads his light crossbow.

Psybo communicates telepathically to the two combatants. “Neutral Good will have initiative unless he states otherwise. Now go at it!”

“Cue the music. Let get ready to rumbuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuull!”

Hujarlk salutes Drek, ignoring the rude gesture, and sets off in a lumbering run towards the little duergar, the greatsword swinging loosely in his massive grip.

(Run to 50N10E)

OOC: If it's 20' movement, run 80', it would be 60n 10e - I don't have the half-giant, so not sure if maybe he has the Run feat...and I really, really don't want to see that sword up close.

Drek disappears from view [then moves to 5n 20e]

OOC: Ah, I thought the SRD entry already had the scale mail factored in (most do, it seems).

So Revised: 80" of run from 115N60E to 55N20E would make sense (four two-steps along the diagonal to cover 40x40 with 60" of move, then 20" to correct towards the 0N0E position.

---

The half-giant snarls as the nasty dwarf-man disappears. He moves closer to where he disappeared from then stands, greatsword ready, for him to come out of hiding.

(MEA to 35N20E, Std: Readied move action to close with enemy when he reappears)

Drek dislikes how well he can see his reflection in that sword. He moves to 20n 10e.
[the True Seeing bots then show Drek grow to twice his normal size]

Hujarlk observes carefully, looking and listening for any sign of the invisible Drek.

(OOC: I'm not sure how to do this, but I want to make Listen and Spot checks for any sounds or signs of the vanished opponent. What I'm not clear on is what that takes. I'm assuming that I can use an MEA to do the skill check. If I observe anything, then move adjacent to the perceived location, if not then ready an Move action to move adjacent should the invisible show up suddenly. Has that been done in another arena perhaps?)
