Trailer Park Boys: the Game, Wed 6:30p-10:00p (FULL)

I will be beta-testing my new Trailer Park Boys game at Gen Con this year. (My Toronto gaming group will be alpha-testing it this June). Based on the popular TV show, the game will work off simple mechanics designed to enhance and emphasize the show's own special genre. Although none of the PCs or NPCs will be characters from the show (indeed, the park will be located in rural British Columbia not Nova Scotia), various basic narrative and genre conventions of the show will apply, including but not limited to the party leader being required to have a rum and coke with ice at all times during play.

For those who do not know the show and would like to become acquainted, I recommend downloading one of the classic episodes, whose names the obscenity filter on ENWorld is about to garble such as

However, knowledge of the TV show is unnecessary; all that is required is an appreciation for trailer park life, its joys and pitfalls.

The premise of any episode of the game will be that exigent circumstances require that the characters raise a certain amount of money in a fixed amount of time to cover a car payment, mortgage payment, pound of dope or what have you. It is up to the PCs to develop a scheme to make this money and to the GM to erect obstacles and interesting NPCs in their path.

Dude! If this is going to require that we drink alcohol while we play, I vote for an evening session. Maybe it can replace the alcohol LARP on Saturday night?

And yes, please count me in. As I said in your other game thread, I am free any time on Thursday and anytime on Saturday. I'm not big on rum & coke because it makes me puke, but if you think it would work for me to have a drink with a little umbrella in it, I'm down for that. Alternatively, I could show up with a bottle of tequilla, a salt shaker and a bunch of limes. You've only seen me mildly tipsy on red wine, so you have no idea. None.

Heh. d20Dwarf has a multicolored sombrero. I bet I could convince him to let me wear it, if you think it would add to the ambiance.

I'm not sure how well a Texan Asian girl can pull off roleplaying a newfie, but I'll do my best.

This sounds like fun, and I'd love to play a game of yours, Fusangite, but I've commited to play in Queen D's game from 4-8 that day. If it were later, I'd do it, but it means I will have Fett there by then!
