Trap only encounter?

Walking out would be a bit dramatic, but the writer could have at least put some creativity into it instead of just copy/pasting the other two traps.

Well, if you'd walk out on a dm because he isn't creative enough for your taste, maybe you should take a crack at dming yourself. If the dm needs to measure up to some standard you have, you need to just bite the bullet and sit behind the screen- and see if you meet those standards yourself.

Also, walking out on a dm for something like this may make you unpopular with your local groups. Many gamers are too socially passive to take any real steps to barring a disruptive person from their games, but the best ones usually won't put up with players who like to make "dramatic" gestures that amount to asshatery.

Don't blame the DM for unimaginative traps, blame the builders of the dungeon. Lord Fraggemal didn't want to pay out the cash to hire a trap architect, so he just copied the layout of the Mausoleum of Mischief, right down to the Exploding Pork trap.
