Darkvision

was fine in 3E, but shouldn't be used in 4E

Living Dead

over all, a bit awkward

Resistance of the Undead

way too specific.

I like the flavor, but again too specific for a PC race

not sure what all the implications are, but it's probably fine.

I'd give them overland flight. (aka no actions in the air) and then a power to give them hover flight for one turn per encounter.

Problem is granting immunities to poison and disease and breathing and sleeping and eating so I didn't want to give them too strong of an encounter power.

Treestep was the only thing the dryads had which looked possible to make into a racial power in the current edition and I figured they should do something dryad ish

I wasn't sure if overland flight on its own would be too powerful for a pc race so I was hesitant to give proper flight but your method would be easier.

with the speed, the single stat and the vulnerability to turn undead, I wouldn't worry.

though it's not the power level of it that's a problem, it's that it's not something you can use most encounters.

(changes in all three racial powers)

Undead usually have resistance to necrotic damage in 4E. Is it intentional that this race would in fact be superior to the other 4E undead?

Also, have you envisioned how this power might be coupled to damage-dealing powers? E.g. if an ally unleashes necrotic energy on enemies, will that ally heal the Living Dead creature also?

If you're serene with all of the above, i guess you don't need to change anything. Just pointing out where i see potential problems.

I'm under the impression that this power is a bit ackward. For example, what happens if the creature doesn't spend the 4 squares flying at the start of its next turn? Or what if it can't?

I'd simplify this power as follows:

Glide (move; at-will)
You fly up to 8 squares but must land at the end of your flight.

Edit: you could also add a provision to the power that a double-move may be used to glide up to 16 squares.
