Caine looks around at the others ordering drinks, but just shakes his head when the maid looks his way. He contemplates the note and it's meaning for a moment, then he shrugs.

"I think I can make it. Do we want to do anything today, or just wait for the quest?"

"White Witch.... that sounds like someone or something with some good loot. I wish I knew more about this land, maybe it would help us out." Kef will whisper to the others, not wanting other players to overhear. "Personally, I'm not much in the mood for grinding, uh, I mean, senseless fighting of mindless creatures. Unless everyone else wants to, of course"

Lily shakes her head. "I'm on now because I want to play now...man, this quest system really sucks. I'm completely going to write a report on this one."

She looks at the others. "Sorry, I know...in-character. But seriously. Tomorrow? So what do we do now?"

"Maybe we could go out and get some practice killing some orcs?" Kef will suggest

[sblock=ooc] Reveille, does time travel at the same rate of speed in the game world as it does in the real world, i.e. would we have to wait 24hrs until the quest happens, or is it an accelerated progression, which sort of makes our characters discussion moot.[/sblock]

As it is right now, time is fixed. As you learn more about the virtual world you will be able access/unlock hacks.

EDIT: Please limit OOC discussion to the OOC Discussion thread. I don't mind the D20 Modern character banter, that to be expected; one of the perks of this campaign.

Oh, and the quests are completely optional. You can choose to take them or not. If you dismisss one another one will pop up. The virtual world does have a learning curve and will learn your avatars desires about quests.

A hulking brute splinters down the tavern door, a stroke of lightning from the distance revealing that he is an ogre. He marches up to the the bar area and plops down a small leather bag. The bartender takes the bag and says to the ogre, "Do you know how many doors I've had to replace in the last four months because of you? Next time use the service entry." The bartender disappears into a back room and comes back with a glowing sword.

"As agreed, the Sword of Tears." He pours a glass of Dragon's Brine (a well known brandy) and the Ogre downs it in one gulp. After a glass rattling burp, the ogre turns around, eyeing the group.

Kef the Magnificant - Tiefling Wizard 3 - 24/24hp - 17AC

Upon seeing the large specimen of a humanoid looking over at the group, Kef will reach surrepticiously into his spell component pouch and fish around until he locates the small pork rind he keeps as the focus of a spell. After he has the object securely in his hands, Kef will cross his arms in front of his chest and say "Got anything important to say ogre or you just enjoy staring at individuals who are superior to yourself?"

[sblock=Action] Kef will ready a Grease spell in the event that this newcomer is aggressive, targeted on its weapon (if it carries one) or else a 10-ft square with it at the back of the square [/sblock]

"Superior?," the ogre barks. "I've been using Diasiag since day one my good sir. I'm already a 5th level barbarian." The ogre smiles at Kef. "You have no need to worry. I have no desire to make any trouble."

The ogre's body contorts, and for a split second shows the user behind the avatar. "Sh*t, I really need to talk to Potter about these damn bugs." The ogre walks over to an empty table and sits down. He reaches out into thin air and moves his hands around for a couple of minutes. A fleeting hazy red glow surrounds the body of the ogre. "Ah, stronger than before."

The ogre then gets up and walks out of the tavern.

OOC: You've just witnesses that Disiag can be hacked.
