D&D 5E Warcaster/Sentinel/War Ruby combo

The Distribution was going to 5 levels of sorcerer then 3 levels of warlock then the rest being sorcerer. Since I’m a half-elf I gain a +2 charisma meaning I start off with 17 charisma then at level 4 I get Elven Accuracy increasing it to 18 charisma. Then the next ability score increases the score to 20. That would mean I have two more ability score improvements later down the line.

Going with your split you will have 4 ASI's. 4th, 8th, 12th and 6th. Given that your level 12 ASI comes at Character level 15 - you likely will never see it. That really means you'll probably only have 2 feat / ASI choices. Your first at 4th is Elven Accuracy. That doesn't leave you enough left to get whatever feat combo you want early enough to even get to use it.

The reason why I chose Sorlock was because I hate being limited as a spell caster to ranged so Hexblade gives you the ability to wear armor and use better weapons. You also can use your looks to fight. (Bad joke about using charisma for your attack rolls)

Seems like level 1 Hexblade + booming blade could have sufficed for this. Speeds your sorcerer progression up by 2 levels which is a pretty big deal.

Treasure points are outdated, they were very unpopular and ended up being scrapped after 1 season. The current rules for magic items are that you can get what you find(Everyone in the party can get the same item somehow) up to a limit based on your level tier. Common items such as the ruby, and consumable items such as potions and scrolls don't count toward the limit.

As for the question of getting a ruby, there is only 1 module that I know of that rewards it. That makes it very hard to get, but I don't really see why you need it in the first place. The improved pact weapon invocation allows you to use your weapon as a focus anyway without taking up an attunement slot, and it doesn't require a level so you can get it at warlock 2.

That’s because I’m not going for pact weapon. Pact of The Chain Sprite with limitless range is a good scout for locations and sending messages across long distances.

If I wanted to be combat centric then yes Pact of The Blade is better but having a sprite is more practical since A: no problems scouting out places because the sprite can be invisible B: It can carry about 20 pounds making it a better mage hand in most cases. It can do more since it can be invisible and isn’t as restricted as mage hand.
