Warhammer RPG release schedule

That was just bad GMing. In a proper Warhammer campaign, a PC gets bent over and violated because he did something stupid...
Also, properly speaking, one should be bent over and violated by Slaanesh cultists, not Tzeentch cultists.

Why every game has to be d20? Non-level advancement system might be more customizable and suitable for grim and gritty world than class system, and the one in Warhammer was quite simple yet allowed many options. If they eliminate the weaknesses of 1st edition, this game might be a blast!

The FAQ on the Black Industries website has the following:

" 5. Will there be a Warhammer 40K RPG?

It’s likely"

Cool, thanks!
While the Fantasy RPG receives a "maybe", the 40K variant receives a "must-have" :)

LOL! Thank goodness that Eric's Grandma doesn't know anything about Chaos Gods ;)

For my purposes, Fading Suns comes close enough, and has lots of original stuff that makes it interesting in its own right...

Personally I think that the adventures for Warhammer are the best that I've ever played, so a revival of Warhammer Fantasy is a great thing.
I think those adventures went along way towards making a decent RPG into a great one. I'd prefer they kinda stick with the old rules although it does bug me that the characteristics vary so much in scale (some 1-10, others 1-100). The main benefit with sticking to the old rules is its easy to import stuff from WFB. A 40K RPG is a no-brainer. I'll definately get that. Hopefully, the two games will be compatable (unlike 40K and WFB).

I like WFRPs critical system since you only take a critical after you run out of Wounds (i.e. hit points). It was easy to convert it into d20 since you just make a chart you roll on after the character drops below 0 hp. You can have critical hits without affecting balance.

Yes - going to pick it up. Loved the game, loved the world, enjoyed the dark and gritty theme.

Yes, d20 games can be set into the world of warhammer without too much of a problem, tone back the magic and make healing only done by surgeons. Some good ways of doing that..

But the revamp of some of the rules is needed from version 1.

From what I have read over on www.strike-to-stun.com and over at the black industries forums, conversion from v1 to v2 should be rather easy (no, no charts to help in this, but it should not be too hard).

Although WFRP works fine, in the game-design family I count it among the later systems in the category of games that first reacted to D&D with 'realistic' hit locations, percentile dice, etc. I think that branch of game design is a dead end, and that something simpler like Warhammer Fantasy Battle would suit the Warhammer World better.

I just read some of the proofs posted for pages from the upcoming Warhammer FRPG. They look fantastic. One of the pages included the Ratcatcher career, and did that bring back some memories...

a pole with 1d10 rats and a "small but vicious dog"...I still remember this from the first edition, although I am pretty sure it used to be "1d6 rats" on that pole. I guess 2nd edition WH ratcatchers tend to be more successful?

Your probably right. From all I've seen, it looks like the game will only use d10s (and d% natch).

I enjoyed both Mordheim and Warhammer Quest. The latter being the most expensive RPG in history (each new character class costs $20).

I'd like to see a full blown RPG similar to Mordhiem that is build from the ground up to handle large combats.
