Given the history of Watchmen movie rumors, I'll believe there will actually be a movie when I see a trailer.

Not sure I understand the interest in the Watchmen series. It was neat, but... it bored me to death when I read it, the plot was nothing special and the idea was so-so. If a movie comes out its doubtful I would even rent/Netflix it.

I don't consider a Watchmen movie to be a good thing. It will only get butchered, and not merely for time constraints. I don't see the ending being the same from the comic to the movie.

Hopefully it'll get canned again. If not, I'm nearly certain it will look something like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. I've been nervous about it since I first heard talks about adapting it a few years ago.

Now, if I heard it was being made into a 12 hour HBO miniseries with a reliable writer and director attached, I would get really excited.

I would think they would pretty much have to... I mean, I hated it when I first read it years ago, but that aside I think the time has passed when "I slaughtered New York! Yeah me!" "Well, ok, I guess it worked, good job." can gain widespread appeal.
