D&D General Weird "DnD Is Dead" Youtube Trend??

Unique applicable advice tend to be more system agnostic territory and more focused on role play and story telling side, then on crunch side of things. Also, news and reviews aren't same as game advice. Authentic, sure. Be interesting personality is always good for YT.

To be fair, Colville isn't full time Yt content creator, nor is YT his only or even main income stream.
Dungeon Dudes seem to avoid clickbait while focusing on mechanics a lot of the time.

Pointy Hat too, even if he does get things wrong more often than some others.

Her last six videos are on actual D&D. It's not just the title. It's the actual game she plays. She's not an idiot and she's not being dishonest as you imply.
Sorry if it came out that way but I'm not implying dishonesty on her part. I was actually pushing back against the idea that Ginny branched out into "general TTRPG content".

She pretty much does mainly D&D content and from time to time dabbles on other rpgs or more general ttrpg advice like most "D&D focused" channels

I don't seem to get any of their content recomended any more, and upon checking, i'm somehow unsubscribed. But i see lot of real play stuff, some with Deborah Ann, which is fine stuff for those interested. I watched fair amount of their tier list videos, not bad. They got decent amount of new material when 5.5 update came out.

Pointy Hat uploads on bi weekly schedule as far as i can see. But sure, he has stellar numbers, on half mil subs, all videos are at least 150+ k views.

The Dudes arent my favorites but it isnt because they do anything unethical, i just dont always wanna sit through a tier list lol

And Pointy...

I have come to prefer WillowWares. She is more chill, and more focused on the spookies in dnd which i like. Both give content out for free and dont rely on ragebait, and both are pretty insightful, Pointy just has a more offhand flippancy while dissecting things which is a combo i do not always appreciate, especially his recent Warlock video. It was rife with incorrect info regarding mechanics and just class identity.

To be fair, i mostly stopped watching d&d related content on purpose, i'll watch if something pops up on recommended and it seems interesting (anything related to 5.5 is not in that category). I'll get ocasional ragebait/clickbait video on recommended feed and 9/10 times, not watch it (idgaf about WoTC drama). Guys in my group don't watch d&d and ttrpg related content at all.

And about the artwork... Yikes! That's like intentionally sexist art. You don't produce that by mistake but as an statement in this day and age.
It seems like appropriate (for the genre) Frazetta/Boris style art? It’s not my preference, any more than pink baby beholders are, but I’m all for creators doing what they like. I wish more people could dislike art without needing it to be a moral judgment.

I wouldn't say it's in that line. I'm all for the Chainmail bikini, but (imo) you need the other side of that with the well muscled dude in the loin cloth to go with it. The nun art in particular had me chuckling.
I mean…it’s not as good. But those guys did plenty of pieces with just women (or just dudes in loin cloths), typically with one or more monsters threatening them.

In any case, that’s the intent, right? “Deathbringer” is supposed to make me think of Frazetta’s famous “Death Dealer,” right?

I think so, but it's missing the mark for me in the art direction.
