We'll ever see shadowrun d20???

The official word: No, never.

And frankly, I'm glad.

I don't think you could port Shadowrun to D20 and truely keep the _FEEL_ of the original game. Too many mechanics would have to be ported, in which case, what's the point? Besides, even at it's core... I really don't think classes are the way to go for the game.

I think that a sacrifice of the original "feel" of the game may be a little lose in comparation with the solution of the BIG no senses which have the original game.

D6 has a limited range of probabilities and any modification of the difficulty (like ONE wound) means that you probably fail that action. Or if you have a difficulty of 6 it's equal to 7...

D20 may solves these problems...

See, that's the thing. Half the reason I love shadowrun is that one wound _IS_ a really really bad thing. And that's assuming you survive it in the first place.

I've played a ton of D6 games... from Shadowrun to the old WEG Star Wars system and beyond... and frankly, I like how D6 mechanics play out in practice. I don't think they are inherently any more "flawed" than, say, the WW D10 system is. I think it's sometimes not wise to limit yourself to only one die type, but other than that...

Honestly, I don't play Shadowrun for the setting. Cyberpunk settings are easy to come by in one form or another, and when D20 modern comes out I could probably fairly easily re-create the Shadowrun setting if I cared to with a handful of house rules. I play Shadowrun for the FEEL of Shadowrun. The gritty, on edge feel... for the nerve-wracking combat... for ever-present shadow of death looming over you... for the "think first, shoot second" aproach to combat. These are the things that makes Shadowrun special for me. Not the setting alone.

its possible

I think its possible to convert Shadowrun over to the d20 system, and I think that instead of using classes the best way to simulate the versatility of the game is to use the Profession system from CoC instead. But, before that game came out, I wrote just a small little bit for the game, and here it is. NoTE: this is far from complete, but with a little work its very possible that it could be accomplished.

changes to document

Now, as I look on the document, which is only like a page or two long (I think), it only provides a brief glimpse into the game.

Things I would change to reflect a better version of it would be to get rid of the classes and convert them to professions, and change the Hit Die mechanic to the individual's race instead. Other than that, the equipment would have to be converted, and some game mechanics would have to be developed.

But, it is possible to create the game for d20, and I think using d20 Modern will also help, but it would need its own way of handling classes/professions and its own set of skills.

Anyone want to work on this to convert it over, see how we end up???

I see a lot of potential for a full blown Cyberpunk Sourcebook

We have the Space Opera ( Starwars) the Adventure in the Void ( Dragonstar ) the Space Opera-like Adventure in the Void ( T20 Traveler) Modern day ( D20 Modern) So why not a little in the future . With fasa going out of bussiness who'll get the license.

I think the potential for the Decker, or the Rigger, or the Street Mage would be the in the high figure range.

Currently way to busy to work on a conversion or even our own setting (doesn't really have to be Shadowrun)

My project board right now consists of The Detective's Handbook Arms of Valor & Darkness ( Very little done) Divine Grimoire ( Setting related book of Gods, and Holy Prestige Classes for my friends campaign world Hagara.) The Hagaran Primer ( another worldbook for the Hagara setting)

City Book; Victorian London

WizKids (and Shadowrun creator Jordan Weisman) owns Shadowrun, but books are being published by FanPro (http://www.shadowrunrpg.com/ ).

A d20 Cyberpunk sourcebook would be great idea (maybe when d20 Modern hits the SRD someone will jump on it...), but d20 Shadowrun wouldn't be. I agree with previous posters that too much would be lost in the translation to d20. As is, Shadowrun is a great game - I'm thrilled to death that WizKids will not be producing a d20 version.

It shouldn't be difficult to port elements and concepts of Shadowrun into the d20 Modern rules system. The Urban Arcana setting (included in d20 Modern) would be a good starting point. It may not be exactly Shadowrun, but then I don't give a rat's behind what y'all think.

I don't need a translation, I need an adaptation. As long it is playable, I'm friggin happy.
