We're Not in Kansas Any More

"Please to meet you Miss Jensen, gentlemen" Dr Grey returns to the others and greets them with appropriate ettiquette considering the circumstances "Havisham Grey, although you may call me Hari considering the situation. I have absolutely no idea where we are, I can't see any familiar stars in the sky overhead although I can point us northward.

Do any of you think we may still be dreaming?..."

dreaming?? what is this guy thinking

"Dreaming? I would say this is a nightmare"

Isaac walks to the cave entrance to look around on the outside, and with the darkness, Isaac couldn't see much, I head back to the main group not to miss any conversation...

"Can anyone see a road down there?" April streches her neck looking off into the distance trying to see any sign of civilization.

[sblock]Spot check result of 9. She is looking for the glow of city lights in the distance[/sblock]

"I could only hope this is a dream. I was planning on mopping up some dead money at a cash game."

Going to the entrance of the cave and looking down, Bryan looks to the others. "Maybe if we start walking, we might be able to find some civilization. But I don't know what direction I start in. Any guesses, Hari?"

Frank will walk outside and look around for any trails or paths that lead from the cave.

Dustin shakes his head.

"I don't think we're dreaming, it seems too real. But if we're going to try walking, I suggest we do it now. It looks like this place could get hot during the day."

He looks down at his bare feet.

"I won't say I'm looking forward to it though."

"No I had a feeling we weren't dreaming.

It seems to me that if we are truely lost with no way of taking our bearings then it doesn't matter which direction we take. Our priority however, is to find something to drink , either water or civilisation - so if anyone is good at water finding that may help.

You know if we don't find water and is does get hot then this cave might be our best option during the day. With luck we may even get some condensation to tide us over"

With that Hari moves to the outside again. He first scans the sky and horizon once more this time looking for water sign - a low cloud, mist or reflected haze before looking down to assess the climb

This is no dream this is a nigtmare, and I hope I wake soon...

April turns to the older gentleman, "Hari was it? I agree with you. I did a story once on desert survival and I remember the ranger I interviewed said if you found yourself lost in the desert your first priority was water..." She turns back to the cave, "You know it felt a little damp in there. That was one of the things that woke me up..." She bends over and moves back inside, "Maybe we can find a small pool of condensation or something... Ssssshh, everyone be quiet for a sec and listen. Does anyone hear water?"

[sblock]OOC: Listen Check Result = 11[/sblock]

"Water?.. I hear nothing. Well let me try and listen again. I took a look myself out the entrance a few ago and I didn't even see a road or nothing. Not really sure how we even got here."

Isaac looks puzzled with that statement, since he is at a loss for words or anything else at this point..

[sblock=Mark]Can I do a listen check... To make sure Im not losing my mind[/sblock]

To stay or to move Havisham Grey pondered the options that presented themselves, it was the best way to keep his mind from the rising panic he felt in the pit of his stomach.

He was in some strange cave, with a group of strangers, in a strange place with no recognisable stars. His family was nowhere to be seen.
Hari was worried about them and if they were safe, silently he prayed that they were at home safe in their beds although he did not know for sure.

He wondered too. His training had included studying traditional beleifs and mythology: of the dreamtime, of 'Fairy' Lands, of the land of the dead - could this be such a place? And if it was then what did that imply!

He continued to study the climb down wondering if it was safe to go. He had done night climbs in the past, but what about the others - would they be capable? Afterall a fall from this height might cause more than just a little bump
