We don't talk about Pun-Pun
Oh I guess I should mention that to become a Dragon you have to be a Wizard 20/Psion 10. Everything is connected, man!
Sorcerer-kings were "kinda sorta divine" so they techinically were powerful enough to make pacts.Except in Dark Sun. 4e Dark Sun had the Sorcerer-King Pact, and the ultimate goal of the Sorcerer-Kings was to become Dragons.
EDIT: Also, to explain how you could use this in the Forgotten Realms, it was explained you could make a Pact with ancient liches.
EDIT 2: and in Dark Sun, Sorcerer-Kings can grant divine spells to their followers, known as Templars.
Because giving the coolness Warlock mechanics makes it better mechanically. Then why do you seem so hellbent on taking away everything that is unique, distinctive, and cool about them?
If we are talking about official sorcerer flavor, that is correct. But in your mind nobody can be just born with natural talent for magic? No one gets to be special without selling their soul?
The cosmic force has to be big or powerful enough to itself have a divine rank or be equivalent to one.Neither the cosmic Cleric nor the Paladin have anything to do with gods. The divine power source is something else.
The Paladin disagrees with you.The cosmic force has to be big or powerful enough to itself have a divine rank or be equivalent to one.
In editions past, you could be a Cleric who worships no god at all, but instead, believes in a philosophy or force of nature. The cosmic force has to be big or powerful enough to itself have a divine rank or be equivalent to one.

Of course. In editions past, you could be a Cleric who worships no god at all, but instead, believes in a philosophy or force of nature.
"Official"? a weird interpretation of three random lines scattered across two books that somehow overwrites and contradicts all the other text in three books, on top of being the exact opposite of a four edition and twenty year tradition for an edition that is all about big tent and preserving lore. But yeah, lets call it official...If we are talking about official sorcerer flavor, that is correct.
