What are you going to do with all your 3.x stuff?

What are you going to do with your 3E crap?

My answer: I look at the piles of crap I wasted my money on I have and I just want to throw it in the trash and start anew. The money I'll get from selling it probably won't be enough to cover the hassle.

[edit: how I REALLY feel about all this CRAP is in post #36]

I'm putting it on the shelf next to Sword and Fist, and the 1e DMG, etc.

I've got a lot of old stuff I only look at for nostalgia. Same thing will happen again.

And I've got a spot for all my old 4e stuff too!

PS

I have a strong suspision that my group will be playing in both editions. So, I'll be keep most of my books at least. But I'll go through them at some point and try to decide what I can afford to get rid of... (Yeah, like that'll happen.)

Well, PM me your list of "crap" and the shipping costs and I will gladly take them off your hands.

I had considered starting a movement: Wouldn't it be funny if everyone brought their 3e stuff to Gen Con and just LEFT it on the floor at the WotC booth for them to dispose of. :-)

If you were satisfied with the 3.* books before 4e was announced, and got good gaming out o them, they're not crap and you didn't waste your money on them. Whether you move on to 4e or keep playing the older edition is irrelevant here, really.

No, it wouldn't. It'd be annoying and childish.

I had to pick "OTHER" because "burn it all before the WoTC Version Enforcement Squad rams my door and forcibly takes me to the 4e re-education camps" wasn't an option.

I picked "OTHER" because, as I've learned on this forum, the instant that 4e is officially released to retail stores, all existing 3e books will burst into heatless flame and roast away into ashes, thus FORCING even the most enthusiastic fan of 3e to convert.

I'm gonna keep most if not all of my 3.0 & 3.5 stuff, because I plan on continuing to play 3.5. It'll eventually evolve into a 3.5 / 4E hybrid as admittedly there are some things about 4E that seen interesting to say the least and that's only if I get my hands on some sort of SRD. I've spent thousands of dollars on 3 & 3.5 material both WOTC and 3rd party, so I havent quite gotten my full use out of the material yet.

First off, anyone seriously considering just throwing stuff out needs to consider that there are plenty of folks that will take that stuff off your hands for you.

Second, I'll be playing 4th, 3.5, and I'd still be playing 2nd and Rules Cyclopedia if most of it hadn't been lost in a move.
