What are your goals?

Everyone should have a goal. Even if it's something minor. What are your goals in life?

Mine:

To publish a piece of music.

To actually finish composing a Suite I've been working on since I was 16.

To finally get more posts on here than Hellhound.

To be making 100k by the time I'm 35.

To finish my Master's degree in two more years.

To get published. Er, I guess I achieved that one. :)

Like die_kluge, I'd also like to publish some music of mine and maybe, fates willing, some fiction. Nothing too lofty. I'll set other goal's as these are accomplished. Optimism!

Right now, to remain a smoker who doesn't' smoke anymore.

(Three weeks w/o a cigarette and counting! And zero butts smoked in 2005!)

I promised myself I would be accomplished, famous, and respected in my field, and I was when I left it, with a couple major patents and copyrights to be proud of.

I promised myself I would get better, learn to walk again, hold a fork in my hand, and eat a steak without having to have it cut into small pieces for me. I did. Twice.

I promised myself I would give my wife a house and new car of our own. I did, and I did even better than I expected.

That just leaves two. I will never let myself get that disabled again, not now that I have the power to chose my doctors instead iof being stuck with one from my insurance plan. And I will be a published author of novel-length fiction before I turn 40.

So far, so good. All but the last one met, and then I can make up some new ones. :)

To see my kids move out to be reasonably well off and happy.

To not die badly, from cowardice, or as a burden on my children.

And maybe, after my experiences today, to design a type of toilet that makes some freakin' sense, without stupid unnecessary holes in the bottom of the tank when latches on the SIDES would do just as good a job.

;)

Given the number of books I read, I have promised myself that I shall put one on the shelf with my name.

So I better finish up that Arthurian book fast ;)

Publish two novels and at least one full comic series.

Visit Japan. This one is easy - it just requires timing.

Write the story, script, screenplay, whatever for a major motion picture.

Do the same for a video game.

Go into politics and be a smart politician.

Wife and kids would be great, but I can only hope that I'll meet the right woman.
