I am really looking forward to the last Harry Potter novel and the next Deryni novel due out I think in December.

The decade between her Deryni books kinda took the wind out of the sails of that series for me. But, I might get back into it. She's a fine writer, and the concept is interesting.

Blackcollar: The Judas Solution by Timothy Zahn (it's out, I'm just waiting for it to be available at my local library)

Mine's on its way from Amazon. Giddy, giddy! :)

I'm always waiting for the next Bujold and the next Brust.

But the one I've pretty much given up hope on is Jerry Pournelle's Janissaries 4.

Janissaries 3 came out in 1987. It didn't complete the story.

In about 1998, he put a note on his 'Work in Progress' page, saying he expected to have book 4 finished by October '99 - it was his current project. Then he said he had about 45,000 words done. Then in December of '99, it was 55,000 done. Then saying it was set aside while working on The Burning City.

Then he put up a new Work in Progress page (with a note saying "Notice the absence of dates"). He said he was up to 65,000 words. That he'd been working steadily on it.

The last note says "Alas, as of Fall 2004 I haven't finished this. It is about next on my schedule, after Burning Tower."

Burning Tower hit stores at the end of 2004.

Where's my Janissaries 4, damn it!?

Waiting patiently for the next Falco novel, and the next Gordianus novel.

And the Whyte's Eagle to come out in paper back, or for the library to wake up and get the hardcover.

As I'm always looking forward to the next Forgotten Realms novel, I'll have to say Final Gate by Rich Baker is high on my "gotta get it" list. Also the following:

The last Harry Potter novel by J.K. Rowling

A Sword From Red Ice by J.V. Jones

The next Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett

And more Forgotten Realms novels, with a pair of the Wizards series out next month: Blackstaff and Bloodwalk.

Ahh and the trade paperback version of Sojourn too to complete the graphic version of the Dark Elf trilogy.
