What can Campaign Suite d20 Software offer you?

Twin Rose

First Post
I was perusing various boards and other items, and I came upon some posts that would indicate people tried out Campaign Suite perhaps last December and haven't really seen what it can do for people. I decided that maybe I should open up a dialog on here, and see if anyone - perhaps people who have tried it before, perhaps people just curious - wanted to learn more.

We've really come a long way with this program, and now we're working directly with publishers such as Mystic Eye Games, Bastion Press, Ambient and more to provide software that not only works with, but directly supports their products.

But what can CS do? For pre-game setup, I don't believe anything even comes close in one utility. Need an encounter table? You can make one -instantly- for the climate/terrain you input, and even exclude certain creature types. Need treasure? You can generate rooms fully stocked with treasure in a couple of clicks. Need NPCs? The character wizard can support all kinds of character types, stock them with skills/feats/weapons/other equipment .. Even random equipment... and there you go.

Campaign Suite is utterly packed with features, many of them can shave literal hours off of your gameprep time. Next time you are making an encounter table from scratch, time yourself and see just how long it takes you.

If you haven't tried out CS for awhile, or even haven't tried it at all, there is a free trial download available:
http://www.multiweave.com/trose/CSTrial.exe

You can learn more at:

And I'll stay on top of this thread, answering any questions that come along.

Good Campaigning!

Dude, if you guys could come up with an interactive atlas for a world you created, or someones, and actually could click on the area, and it goes to an exploded view, then click on a city, and it explodes. Then you could click on a tavern or inn in the city (or shop, etc.) and it would show a guy at a desk or bar, and he says, "how can I help ye?", or the DM could record his own voice, with a random item generator or dm could fill, I would pay and pay for the ease at the table.

Hmmm. That would be an interesting feature.

This could lead to a couple of problems - one, the download size woudl get a little incredible. This would be okay for our upcomming CD release, but polls show that GMs who use the tool in game want it unobtrusive - they don't want it making a bunch of noise, or drawing the attention of GMs and players alike.

The third big issue I see with such a feature as this would be the fact that it wouldn't be 'smart'. The innkeeper would say that every time the GM clicked to get information on the inn, even if the player characters were being chased by an angry mob.

None the less, I like the idea of a GM being able to store a recording of him reading a room description, or an encounter setup, instead of just reading it off the screen or printout. I can see where listening to yourself in game-prep could be a good way to make sure you "get it right" since it's not hard to delete and start over. Something to consider, certainly.

I guess that you will be at Gen Con and have a demo there?

Yes, we're working out our demo schedule now, but we'll have pamphlets and instruction manuals, lots of screen shots, demos of CS working with the various expansions, some modest displays, and a presence throughout the event.

Additionally, the CS expansions will be set up to show people how Wild Spellcraft, Librum Equitis, Nightmares and Dreams 1 & 2, and Interludes: Brief Expeditions to bluffside can be used in a Campaign. It's almost ironic that the first publishers we signed were also the ones we ended up sharing a booth with - so we can help demo their products as well.

How about Kingdoms of Kalamar?

Unlike many of the generators you'll find out there, Campaign Suite manages your world notes, and has editors for such things as classes, feats, and more. Pretty much any product could be entered into Campaign Suite, and with just a little tweaking you can make it work for you.
