I played a cleric.

I'd have liked it, except for the expectation that you must be a heal-bot. That expectation is why I did not like it. Despite being spellslots instead of point based, it seemed to be fun - until I got grief for using my spells for things other than healing. If not for that, I think it would have been a lot of fun.

For my answers, I used the guideline of "did I play this class more than one session?" Most of 'em don't qualify in that regard.

Played a cleric twice, hated it both times, mostly becuase I got shoehorned into being the walking first aid kit. Ended up quitting one campaign after the other players whined for almost 10 minutes that I had dared to use my spells for something other than healing.

Played a 3.5e ranger once, had fun. Went the shooty-path, and was quite adept at preventing enemy casters from wrecking havoc on us thanks to readied actions.

Played a 3.0 and 3.5 fighter a few times. Fine for low-levels, not so much once you got past 6th and the others classes really started hitting their prime.

Now a Warblade on the other hand... that was fun :)

The Monk was my first 3E character. He didn't hit the hardest, but in terms of single enemy domination, he was amazing. Enemies found themselves on their back and unarmed for most of the fight. He ended up being one of 3 legendary characters in our campaign setting. My second monk was a polearm tripper/grappler. Again, didn't hit the hardest, but his control of individual enemies was awesome.

The Fighter/Ranger I'm playing now is probably my second favorite 3x character. We've got a 6-PC group, so I've been able to provide ranged support instead of being a front-line fighter.

I played a Cleric a couple different times, and enjoyed it both times. However, they were short-lived campaigns and both started around level 7, so I don't know if I would have liked the lower levels as much.

I've played a couple variant arcane caster classes (Monte's and Elements of Magic) that I really enjoyed, but never a core arcane caster.

Beyond that, I haven't really played any other classes. I'm planning on a Rogue in the future, and either an Illusionist or Enchanter specialist. In theory, I'll enjoy them :) but you'll have to run this poll in about a year to see if that's accurate.

I've never played a monk or a paladin, but I've played every other class at least once and I enjoyed playing all of them.

I've just recently started my first 3e wizard, and I'm finding that wizards really rock (especially with elf wizard racial substitution levels)! ;)

Well, I've only played 3.5 so far; and I've played a Druid and a Paladin. But I've had a blast with both characters.

Spell casters are where it's always been at, for me. I can swing a sword, get pissed off, do martial arts, or sneak around in lots of genres. But fantasy is forcontrolling the forces of the universe and bending them to my will. That being said, the most fun i've had was when i had a good character and not just some numbers on a page.

1. Wizard
2. Bard
2.5 Warmage (not in poll)
3. Cleric
4. Sorcerer

Now with 185 votes, and there have been some changes.
The Wizard has taken the lead, something like 130 liked, while ~10 disliked. Rogue still popular, Druid remains "most loved of little played", fighter is in the middle of the pack (least loved of most played) and monk has taken its rightfull place at the bottom. But the paladin still does not do well, sitting in second to last place.
That's an awfully negative way to spin it -- I wouldn't say the paladin "doesn't do well," since more than twice as many people liked playing it as didn't. To me, the poll seems to show that all the classes were generally well-designed and fun to play.

The only one that's less than 2-to-1 is the monk, and that class still has a commanding advantage in likeability. Overall -- well done, 3E/3.5!

I do wish I had gotten to play more PCs over the course of 3E/3.5. I only got to play 3 for any significant length of time.
Coral, halfling Rogue/Fighter with aspirations of paladinhood -- got up to 9/3 or so.
Brother MacLaren, hard-drinking brawling Cleric of Kord/Fighter -- got up to 6/2 or so.
Jerrin, druid, dragonslayer, baron, destroyer of armies -- all the way from level 1 to 20.
