What d20 game hasn't been done [or done right] yet?

I'd be very interested to see Earthsea D20 as well, although there are some inherent complications.

Others high on my list are Dune d20 (I heard this was started, but sort-of fell on its face) and Dark Tower d20 (Stephen King's 7-part saga).

I'm also still waiting for a good sci-fi d20, but with everything done for me (not a toolkit in other words). Perhaps there is one out, I'm not to knowledgable when it comes to d20 stuff...

Those of you that want Anime, check out BESM d20.

I want a Final Fantasy d20 book. That would be wicked.

I considered using BESM d20 for a FFVIII game. Seems like it would be pretty close.

Of course, I choked when I saw the price on BESM d20 (both versions are way too expensive for their respective formats IMNSHO), and don't think I am going to shell out that much. Fortunately, the put the crunchy stuff in the Anime SRD, so the game may happen yet...

I'm actually planning to run a Mononoke-style session tomorrow, complete with feral druids, giant boars, and a super-sized spirit of the forest. Wish me luck!

I wish you all the best... Wish I had time for that myself, though I'd blend all his stuff up together-- I love the political backdrop / post-apocalyptic feel of Nausicaa!

The problem is, I don't think I've seen any RPG system (D20 or otherwise) that could properly emulate the magic system of FF VIII. Then again, if there were an RPG system that did that, I'd probably pass on it real quick since my opinion of the magic system of FF VIII (as well as the rest of FF VIII) is rather low, to put it kindly.

For those unfamiliar with FF VIII's magic system, a character doesn't have any innate magic. Instead, they have to equip a Guardian Force (or GF for short), which is a spirit being, in order to enable the use of magic and other abilities (otherwise, the character only gets a physical attack to use in combat).

However, just having a GF isn't enough to use magic. Instead, you get an ability from the GF that lets you draw magic from opponents in combat. Essentially, you draw uses (for lack of a better term) of different spells that the opponent is capable of, and you can stockpile as many as 99 uses of any given spell.

In a sense, it does bear a similarity to the standard D&D/D20 magic system in that spells are akin to physical ammo, but that's where the similarity ends. It would take a lot of tinkering around to emulate both the draw system and the GF system (not to mention the junction system, where you can boost your abilities based on how many spells of a certain type you've stockpiled).

I know J.K. Rowling isn't letting anyone use Harry Potter, but I'm surprised there aren't published RPGs aimed at kids. What was that nifty-keen game I saw one fellow posting on the boards a few weeks back? He said he ran it with his kids. I wish I could find the link to that.

Pokemon Adventure jr. is often the role-playing game suggested for children. I didn't see the thread in question but thats always my first answer when the topic comes up.
