What happens when you use a spell to increase the size of your character?

Divine might doubles your height and increases you mass by 8.

It grants and enlargement bonus of +4 and changes your size to 1 step larger if you were not already huge.

You lose 1 for AC and BAB and your weapons also grow in size.

The question is...

Do you also take into account what a large size creature would have?

Such as CON, Natural Armor, Reach and so forth?

What do other spells do, such as Poly and Shapechage?

(plz no personal attacks, I do not want to get this post dirty as well... No reason for me to have to post some silly garbage back at ya)

It says that your size becomes 1 step larger.

I can see that the spell takes into account most of the effects of becoming larger...

My question is what about Polymorph and other spells...

Do you just take the new size and add make the changes to your character?

I am using PCGEN and this is not a routine thing to do in there...

Polymorph turns you into a specific type of creature, and you get the stats for an average creature of that type. And adjustments for size are already figured into the stats in the MM, and those are the stats you would use.

Otherwise, you only get the benefits that the spell tells you that you get. Enlarge/Reduce won't change your size category, they only adjust your height/weight and give a minor strength increase/reduction.

You don't get the things in the chart for creature advancement in the MM for growing in size. That chart if for creatures who advance by HD. Its a tool to help DMs make realistic changes to creatures that they decide to advance using the advancement rules.

If you cast a spell that makes you large, you get what the spell says.

If you advance using the creature advancement rules to a HD that makes you large, then you get what that chart outlines.

OK. I just read the spell Righteous Might (I hadn't heard of divine might before, unless that's a house spell). The answer is no to all of the above.

In the PHB, under the Righteous Might description, it talks about what happens to Jozan's stats when he casts the spell. Note that it does not mention stat bonuses for size increases. The STR boost you get is an enlargement bonus which is already provided by the spell.
