What I Realized When Watching Rudolph...

Ranger REG, a long time needed post! It is about time somebody exposed the dark side of this children's special. :]

And another thing, the so-called "adult" reindeer join in the derision. They're worse than the kids! Hmmm, reminds me of parents at any childrens'sporting event in this 21st century...

And another thing, Santa can't deliver toys and so he has to cancel Christmas -- because he can't deliver toys. Ah, consumerism at its best. I didn't realize he had such power.

OMG. What have I done?

:p

Of course, it's consumerism. Only the Germans would think of something like that. :]

Not only the reindeers didn't like him and his red nose but Santa, too. Only when that fat nearsighed tub of lard couldn't fly his sleigh through blinding snow did he find how useful Rudy is. And he should be making a list of who's naughty and who's nice?

*shakes head in disappointment*

I noticed that a long time ago. Santa is an ass.

You know, I had to go through some mandatory Sexual Harassment training this last week.

There was quite a list of behaviors that may indicate that someone is a pedophile. As I went down them, I thought "Wow, the entire list applies to Micheal Jackson. The whole frakking thing!"

But now that you mention it, a large part of it applies to Santa Claus too. The whole 'unnatural interest in children', buying them gifts, sneaking into their houses, all that.

I tells ya, the man needs to be investigated... :p

Can you show us on the dolly where Santa touched you?

Trust me, it's no longer America's problem. Then again, would it be selfish of us NOT to tell our British friends ... or consider this payback for the 1812 War (him and Madonna)? :]

Nah. They wouldn't believe us, anyway.

It's funny to see this thread just now. Just the other day a friend of mine who really loves all the Rankin-Bass animated Christmas specials was commenting on how as an adult (he's your age, Ranger REG), he suddenly realized that the moral of 'Rudolph' appears to be that it's okay to be different, as long as you're useful. :uhoh:

But dude, don't you see? It's realistic storytelling. It shows that even a paragon of virtue like ol' Kris Kringle isn't above prejudice or ignorance. Not only that, he's a coward too. In that he has get rid of Rudolph in order to apease the other reindeers. :p
Just what I'd espect from a white shirt. The other reindeers are union, and you gotta do what the union says.

Copeesh.

But wouldn't Santa be a Teamster?
Well the way i see it is the reindeers are their own union. We'll call them the transport union. And its union policy not to have rednoses in there. Santa would be in charge of the teamster elves. Now you know that unions usually stick together. If santa hires rudolph he is going against union policy and risks a strike with the reindeer and a sympathy strike with the elves, all this for a red nosed reindeer.
