I would say that I like classic rock the most since I listen to a lot of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Doors, Lovin' Spoonful, Steppenwolf, The Who among others. That would be followed by Celtic music and musical/movie/tv soundtracks.

Both types: country and western! ;)

It's funny, a few years ago I bought a box set of Chris Ledoux. It had 3 CDs and you could tell by the third CD he'd pretty much made the crossover from Western to Country. I don't think people realize that there actually is a difference between the two. :)

Alternate list of types

Arbitron (the company that does radio listenership surveys in the U.S.) has a list of the radio formats that they measure:
http://www.arbitron.com/radio_stations/formats.htm

While it's not the same kind of list that the original poster used, it's an interesting comparison. However, I guarantee I can't explain the differences between some of the formats (e.g., what's the difference between Hot Adult Contemporary and Modern Adult Contemporary?)
