What should I do? (contains spoliers from Scarlet Lord adventure from Dungeon)

This is the short version:
a divine caster is performing a ritual that will bind the Scarlet Lord once more. She has to see the Scarlet Lord when the ritual (he´s chained at the bottom of a huge lake) begins, and the ritual will last 10 rounds before it´s completed. We place the divine caster at the top of a building, protected by the party sorcerer. She must first perform an unbinding ritual to supress the magic that binds the Scarlet Lord. She starts to chant, and very soon the Scarlet Lord breaks the surface- quite a bit from where we expected him to do.
The race is on.
The Scarlet Lord heads straight for the divine caster and the sorcerer. Bad. Really bad.
Our sorcerer is blind but has blindsight 45 ft,but that not near enough to see or hear anything that is happpening on the lake.
Me and my psionic friend is to deal with this beast:after hitting him a couple of times with my Scythe - it doesn´t damage him at all - and the psion has a very rough time breaking through spellresistance I realize that now is the time to take one for the team - I take a Defensive Stance (I´m playing a Dwarwen Defender) on the thick scarlet fungus that covers the lake and wait for the end. He grabs me and starts to hurt me real bad, I try to break free, but he´s to strong. At round 10 the Scarlet Lord deals the last damage to put me at - 9: 239. The same round the Ritual is complete and the Scarlet Lord slowly starts to sink to the bottom of the lake.
I roll my stabilization check but fail. The party grabs me later and brings me back to town, and strange stuff happens there.
2 days later - IRL- I suddenly remember that I totally forgot about my damage reduction. Doh! My Defender has DR 3,and that means a lot in this case - I should not be dead. I like this dwarf quite a bit and enjoy playing a fighter for once. Should I bring this up with with my dm, or just forget about it? What would you do - as players and as dm:s?

I'd bring it up to the DM, and try and work something out. Perhaps a grateful populace would come up with a scroll of true ressurrection, so you're not penalized, or perhaps Moradin sends you beck because "your work is not yet done". It'd be out of line to ask to replay all of the events, but since your character shouldn't really be dead, the GM should be a bit flexible.

Its kind of harsh in this instance, but we have a house rule: If nobody catches an error in the round it's made, the error stands. This works for the DM as well as the players. IMC, it's the DM's responsiblity to remember the NPC's abilities and the players responsiblity to remember the PC's abilities.

We just finished that adventure about two weeks ago. Your DM is hardcore, the adventure recommends that you only expose the PCs to the Scarlet Lord's attacks for 1-2 rounds.

I can understand that if you forgot that you were Hasted and only cast one spell (3.0) or missed an AAO you will get no second chance, but can you really "forget" DR? Or other abilties that are "natural"?
Just curious.

Good stuff!

Wouldn't have flown in my group (players are responsible to know their own abilities), but I'm glad it worked out for you.
