What's yer favorite genre?

What is your favorite genre? Fantasy? Horror? Science fiction? Steampunk? Super-hero? Modern? Wild west? Other?

I obviously like SF myself, even counting Call of Cthulhu as a form of SF. Never got into the DnD style settings, medieval fantasy, just not my thing. Not shading it, just not my bag.

I like pulpy sword & sorcery style fantasy the most! I would love to play in a weird west campaign one day.

Overall, Fantasy. But in terms of sub-genres (in no particular order):

4. Romantic Fantasy
5. Bronze & Iron Age Fantasy.

However, I'm not so much into Grimdark Fantasy or any fantasy that involves magical body horror.

Not really a fan of generic fantasy settings myself (played in them for too long), though sometimes options for play limits what is available.

When I am running games I prefer my own custom settings. My primary setting incoporates elements of Etherpunk/ Biopunk/ Dieselpunk (New Weird, not historical), and I'm currently designing the game to work either in one of the three genres (for GM's who only want one specific genre), or a mixing of the three to create new and unique stories.

We were planning on a release early next year, but delays in art have pushed it back a ways. Oh well, it gives me time to further refine the game mechanics and the setting details while we wait for the process to near completion.
