What's your favorite video game?

I found GoW to be far too easy but DMC3 was alright though. Im almost done with Jade Empire for XBOX, its been pretty good thusfar I recommend it. But my favorite video game of all time is Kickle Kubicle for NES. A great old skool puzzle game. I also enjoy the original Legend of Zelda.

Do I have to only pick 1?

Kingdom Hearts is one. I can't WAIT for the new game to come out. I also like Need For Speed, Kings Quest, Lands of Lore, And of course Magic Workstation. :) Torm and I have been kicking each others' butts on that today hehehehe.

World of Warcraft. It hasn't even been out for a year yet, and I can't think of any other game in my life that I've played as much and still found it entertaining.

Runner up: Doom.

Continuing in the vein of older games that I still play more than current games; I'm a huge fan of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, especially 2, 3 and 4. 3 is probably the best of the bunch even today. I also quite like the Age of Wonders series, although I haven't played the latest iterations yet. In general, I vastly prefer the turn-based to the real time fantasy strategy games.

I can give you a list, but not one. Here's some:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (including Masterquest)
The Legend of Zelda: The WindWaker
All platform Super Marios that came out for NES and SNES and Mario64 with MarioKart 64 and (incl. Super Mario RPG and MarioKart) Pretty much every Super Mario game ever.
GoldenEye
Rogue Squadron II (Rogue Leader) and III (Rebel Strike)
FFII, FFIII, FFV, FFVII

...the list is pretty much endless for me.

Like others, I can't give you one; I'm stuck with a list:

- I'm a big Final Fantasy nut, especially FFIV, FFV, FFVI, and FFVII
- Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross
- Xenogears and the Xenosaga series
- Star Ocean 2 and Star Ocean 'Til the End of Time

Myth I and Myth II - from the Creators of Halo, before they fell into darkness. Terrific compelling stories, near perfect control setup and game play. They are RTS games without the resource gathering, you have force X and that's it. Also terrific online play, I played the two of them combined for about 2 years online. (Old Games)

Final Fantasy VII - The only game which I liked enough to actually go and track down all the little extras and powerups that are scattered all over the place in the FF games. (old Game)

Master of Orion II - One of the great time gobblers I have ever found (old game)

Another vote for Civ 2 being better than Civ 3. Civ 2 is ALWAYS on my HDD. The best game ever. Every few months I'll obsess over it and conquer the world one more time.

Kohan and Age of Wonders series are 2 of my all time favorites.
I still dust off Diablo 2 once in a while.

Medal of Honor and Call of Duty are my all time favorite shooters.
Or is it Half Life?

I didn't see it listed, but you say you're an action junkie: Ninja Gaiden for XBox is a truly awesome action game. Others I would suggest are already mentioned: KOTOR, KOTOR II.

Tne Tenchu games are pretty good, too. There are ones for PS , PSII, and XBox.

I can never quite decide between Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. After those two, it's a big jumbled mess with Fallout 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, Final Fantasy Tactics, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, Ico, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Soul Calibur 2 all jockeying for position.
