Wheel of Time S3

There are some controversies in there this week. Loial being a big one. Battle was done well. Smaller than I expected but well done. Getting a bit tired of Alana going down again. I almost expect her to say in a cockney accent “can everyone stop getting shot.”
Maybe it's all of the visual rhyming with Gandalf's last stand in FotR, but I expect Loial to be back at some point.

As for Alana, well, it does make sense that the focus of any attack against a force with Ae Sedai would be on taking out the wizards (sorcerers) quickly. They are battlefield multipliers. I know my intelligent monsters in a D&D session go hard after the magic users first :)

It is increasingly clear as tge books go on ho× much od a hardcore Grognard (as in, old school wargamer) Jordan was at West Point, and yeah, going for the Wizard is a pretty Wheel of Tine strategy

Just finished Winter's Heart (wow that ending)! I'm still trying to process everything that happened in that final chapter (need to read it again) but is there a good online guide to WoT? I feel like I've jumbled up some characters and events, and am having trouble connecting everything and everyone in the finale of this book.

That ending is such a doozy that Robert Jordan wrote an entire epic length novel processing it!

First, I would like tattacker the chance to commend the reference work that Jordan's widow and personal assistants put together after the whole series was done, it is excellent as a reference tool: The Wheel of Time Companion - Wikipedia

As for an online resource, the Wheel of Time fandom is one that really paved the way for online fan reference resources, and the Fandom Wikia is 20 years old and very well developed:

Yeah I have to agree, I mean taking out the Ae Sedai was THE strategy, otherwise...your side is going to get mowed. One spell and the front line already got crushed, with her casting over an extended battle you don't have a good shot. hehe there is a reason these women have specially trained body guards! And in this case she was once again away from her guard....and yeah she got got.

I really want Loial to come back, best character on the show by far!

Thank you for pointing me to the Wiki, already proving immensely helpful! That's gonna be quite the rabbit hole for me.

Episode 8 took out S3 with a bang. Some major changes from the books. Still seems very confident in where it's headed. At this point, I'm thinking they'll need 7 seasons to tell the full story. Hope they get picked up for the rest of it soon.

Yeah, if they can pull off even a semblance in 7 seasons, thst would be a pretty impressive feat of editing...but it is feasible. I'm not super duper pleased with the shortcuts they have made to get there but given the constraints of their medium they may be necessary.
