Maybe you should edit the poll if you can. I'm in the same boat as the others - no option for me since I started playing in 1979 at the ripe old age of 11 and I'm now 35.
I skipped out for a while and now delving back into it full force as a mid-twenty something. 3E is awesome, although detailed, but you can leave in or take out as much detail as you want. It's a far cry from the original in the red, but still has the imaginiative spark to have great fun.
A poll here might give you a handle on the demographics of EN World message board posters. We do not represent a vaild statistical sampling of the gaming community in general, so this poll won't give you the handle you want.
Read the core books at about age four or five (1986/87) and have gamed right on through to today. Fun times fun times.
My first job was with my older brother's group as the DM's "Living Rule Book" since I memorized many of the rules. I got a quarter every time I ruled in the players favour! Good to know that I can sell my soul cheap huh?
After that I DM'd.
As for the future, well, to rip-off a person who used it in a different context: They'll get my books when they pry them from my cold dead hands (or offer me a shiny enough quarter )
