Where do you think up your best ideas?

I'm very visual, so I usually flip through images online (google image search for .jpg or 1, things that will call up millions of completely unrelated images) or surf TV or monster manuals...wherever...something will make my brain tickle and it's all down hill from there.

Right here at my desk. Around me are tons of half-sketches, notes of all kinds, books, games, and a TV within view. Its basically my living area and all the good stuff happens right here. Well, most of it. ;)

I get ideas while doing all sorts of things, not any one thing in particular seems to stand out for ideas, great or otherwise. However, if I wanted to expand upon the idea and say write it up for future reference, then the sweet time is just as I'm falling asleep. I couldn't begin to count the number of times I'd start to drift off and the words to explain an earlier idea just start pouring through my mind and then I'm wide awake, mind running wild on how to write up other idea's I've had. Unfortunately, by the time I get around to actually writing anything up, the words aren't as clear as when I was trying to get to bed.
