Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Goff's Hamburgers used to have a statue of Lenin in front, adorned with a plaque: "America Won" on its base.

So the owner is rude to customers? Why go there? I'm guessing the statue was probably what was attracting people to it.

I used to work down the street from Goff's, and we there from time to time. The burgers, etc. were top-notc, some of the best in the neighborhood.

And I think some people dug the insults: kind of like buying a Kostabi or visiting a dominatrix, it was partof the experience.

Me? I liked the food, but I'm low-key enough that I never had the owner's ire directed at me, so I can't say if it was schtick or misanthropy.
