I'ld have to say its more like Star Wars.

We have a few characters that compete for attention by making a better character than the other characters. Generally once one character makes it the others shortly follow. Then the whole game is out of balance and the DM has to use CRs 3 and 4 levels above us to make it a fair fight for NPCs and monsters.
Translation: We always have characters that shine but there is always a hot shot (han solo)

There is the guy that has a decent character, but it never really shows up in game play (the Wedge antillies)

Theres the powergamer (a step above the other characters) me. one of the best min/maxers out there .
translation: center of attention in and out of combat (Emperor)

Theres the new guy (there seems to be someone that never gets things)
(lando calrisian (sp))

Theres the Guy thats the sniper/ranged master
(boba fett)

Theres the wizened wizard
(Obi wan)

I don't know. Whatever movie has lots of me making up stuff as I go along, lots of plot holes, lots of interesting things that are started and then dropped along the way, ending with the sudden inexplicable death of all of the major characters .... that's the one.

That would be Xena/Hercules. You pretty much just summed up 7 years of Renaissance productions' "Action Pack."

I'd say Plan 9 for m Outer Space. Lots of things going on in that movie that makes no sense.

Plan 9 rocks! It was one of the first movies I bought on DVD. There are so many stupid/unexplained/mistaken things in there, ya just gotta enjoy it.

"We are all interested in the future, because that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives."

"Future events, such as these, will affect you, in the future."

"Because all you of earth are idiots!"

"Your stupid minds. Stupid! STUPID!"

"I'm a big boy now, Johnny."

I think I'm gonna go watch it right now. :D

While I know that my PCs (see the Story Hour) would like to be great hinder-kicking heros, I'm afraid that the feel is something closer to Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China...lots of smartaleck attitude, and sometimes they can even back it up, but usually they get beat on a lot.

This exactly describes our style. Wish I'd thought of it.

Our campaign style would most likely be described as Big Trouble in Little China.

We have a bunch of veteran gamers that knoq how to play undestand the rules and constantly screw up.

The group in our high level game (the word group is used here based solely on physical distance from one another) is essentially comprised of a bucnh of chaotically aligned, paranoid, self serving misanthropes. In fact, the Lawful Evil wizard id the most dependable person in the group.

It is a fun group. Jus not terribly serious of effective.

My style...

You could say its the art of gaming...without gaming.

See that island....:D

I would say I DM, a very Count of Monte Cristo (plotting is good)/Dark Crystal (mainly the visuals)/Record of Lodoss Wars/my own twisted imagination game. Or as someone once put it to me (last night in fact). "I try and turn everything into a Kult game, I want the players to be paranoid on whether or not the table is moving when they're not looking."

I would have to say Indiana Jones/Raiders of the Lost Ark. :)

As for Eric's movie, Plan 9 is a perfectly fine way to game.

I've always thought my game was a bit like Die Hard: Heroes with a patchy relationship with the populace end up in the right place in the right time, get beat up by some bad guys up to some nasty evil plot that they run upon and end up saving the day.
