Well, I gave up on re-releases back in the year 2001...when by all rights they should have been showing 2001: A Space Odyssey in theaters again. But noooooooooooo....

Umm, they DID! I saw it. At the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Was it not widely released or something?

I'll go just for seeing Nightmare Before Christmas one more time on the big screen

...or The Lion in Winter one more time... ;)

That too is coming up...at Disneyland they are playing it on the big screen, some time this week in fact I think.

I agree I would love to see the director's cut of the Abyss on the big screen.There are a couple of old movies I would like to see like Grease, My Fair Lady and some of the old Bond films.

Can I say none?

Seriously there are only two reasons I still go to the theater;
1) I get to see the movie before it is available on DVD.
2) My fiancee likes the 'movie going experience'.

Personally once a movie is on DVD my desire to return to the theater and endure the 'movie going experience' is exactly zero.

And I don't even have a fancy DVD player or TV (and no stereo system)!
