THAT'S WHAT D&D NEEDS!

Actually, in my campaign (if you pony up for it beforehand), you can, if you call me/e-mail me 12 hours before the game starts, let someone else, who has been informed about your characters exploits every week (so (s)he knows how to play the PC just as you would), take your place at my table.

Why does the guy's emotional state depend on what i do? Ie. he was fine all the time that i was playing his PC and he didn't know it, but once he finds out he's somehow distressed. that seems just a wee bit silly to me. You may find me harsh on this, but i don't get it when peoples emotional states are dependant upon things that they have no way of knowing are "real" or not. I was trying to show how that the guy, instead of "being hurt" actually "hurt himself" because he was not hurt until he decided to be hurt.

However, 90% of people out there are emotionally affected by the actions of those around them. I can understand if you think it shouldn't be that way, but it is. :)

As to the, "YOU made you angry" statement, do you believe that no action by another person should elicit an emotional response from you? Or is it that you feel they should have more control over their emotional responses to others?

Seriously. I'm curious about your viewpoint here, and I'd like to understand better. :)

Ideally, yes, for both questions. In practice, its almost impossible, however. But the practice makes one, in general, a less volitile environmentaly-reactive person.

I think the best thing about this whole thread is that with a quick read through and note taking, I have a nice list of ENworlders to never EVER do PBEM games with, work with on a d20 project or otherwise have any interactions with. It was great of the original poster to come up with a question that would bring all the major {individuals I would not personally or professionally get along with based on certain traits displayed on this thread} out of the woodwork at once...

Yeah,

Thanks everyone who did post in this thread by the way. It really opened up my eyes on a lot of issues that I never thought I would ever see about a game, and how some people really have problems with how some DM's run thier games.

Id ask about that list also but I'm afraid of the answer I might get. :p

Am I on your list Kahuna Burger?

*snicker* I was trying not to be egotistical enough to think anyone would care. (kinda like I rarely publicly plonk posters on usenet anymore unless there's been an ongoing discussion with them)

*checks list real quick* Nope. :D
