As an experiment, after discussing the Walking Dead finale with my game group, I sent them an email placing them in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Miraculously, they had all survived and headed south, finding an abandoned farm.

They had their wives and kids with them. I gave them some details and they seemed interested.
Three hours later, the initial thread I started had over 50 posts, one guy asked that his wife be able to play herself, as did my wife. Neither of the women have any RPG experience. Both of the women immediately started replying. This morning, another one of the guys wive's wanted in.

I've got 9 adults spewing email faster than I can respond about what they are doing. I can barely keep up with what they find, what they can do, etc.

I'm using an online die roller to try to determine random events.

We're well over 200 emails, in 3 days and these guys aren't giving it a rest.

Who knew?!?!

Roleplaying without rules is a pure form of roleplaying.

The nice thing is that everyone can do it when it catches their fancy.
