D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

TSR ran it into the ground 30 years ago and yet here it is, still chuggin' along.

If WotC does manage to run D&D into the ground there's exactly zero doubt that someone will come along and revive it or, if necessary, reboot it from scratch. in fact, the biggest problem would probably be too many 'someones' all trying to rescue it at once and all pulling in different directions.
EN World must have used a little divination magic four years ago to foresee WoTC's attempt to run D&D into the ground. How else can we explain the debut of Level Up, an advanced version of 5e D&D? ;)

Breaking the rules to argue that you weren't breaking the rules is not persuasive.

This is quite literally the most bizarre thread I've ever seen on Enworld.

We can agree a company can't please everybody, but it has to choose what sector of market they are willing to sacrifice. I don't want to give examples but there are some cases in the last years about how to try to attract certain kind of customers they have caused stampede or they shoo away a bigger group of customers.

A company has to understand the profile of each sector of its customers to give what the majority wants.

And if it is a product for underage then there is a hard and hidden censorship, the parents who buy those products for their children. And we can guess the profile of majority of parents. Their money their rules.

There is a right and a wrong way to be inclusive. The right way is "everybody is wellcome to the table" and the wrong way is to ignore the old customers who aren't in the current VIP list.

And I don't like the two tiers, when the signs of simpathy or support are showed only in a place but not in others because there the rules are different. That is not coherence and lots of customers notice it.
