Absolutely no.

Having read the info out there and listened to the podcasts from the developers t... I've finally decided enough is enough.

I've been playing since the early 80's and have become unbelievably sickened by the direction that D&D has taken.

Leveling is done in a nonce. Everyone becomes a mind reading superhero with feats like sense motive, and Everything has been reduced to a roll that doesn't even require role playing.

And worse yet, the game has stopped feeling or looking like the game I used to enjoy.

This is no longer D&D... and I'm not buying any more of it.

Buying it is one thing, playing it is another.

See this is also my question as well.

I know plenty of people will buy it. I plan on waiting for the SRD and then use elements that I like for my 3.5 game. If there are enough of those elements then I'll wait for a second printing and buy that. But I don't plan on running 4th Ed as my regular game.

I was leaning towards probably not, but now I am leaning heavily toward definitely not after seeing some of the more concrete information. However, I'll still wait to see if there is anything worth stealing and adapting.

I was pretty interested in it following the initial announcement, but the previews have largely turned me off. That said, the fact that I'm still following the game's development implies that my mind can be changed between now and June.

I recently pre-ordered all three books.

Why? Because I love to read game systems.

Will I play any 4e games? Yes.

Will I run any 4e games? That remains to be seen.

To put it bluntly, I don't like any of the options. "I will buy it sight unseen" implies willful ignorance. The "probably" option is tied to reviews, which I probably won't need. I'll learn all I need from previews and, if necessary, a personal reading at the bookstore. The little side comments muddy the water too much for me to participate.

I know it's not a science, but there's no point in me responding if I think the poll doesn't represent me.
