oh, that? i did catch that. funny it just seemed like a good idea at the time i heard it. i idiotically assumed the word "nerfed" to mean something serious or unjust or ... something. *shrug* thanks Hardhead.

I'm going to say something that *didn't* change was the worst, change, if that's alright...

Not getting rid of class-based multi-classing restrictions was the worst part of 3.5 (IE, monk and paladin).

Some characters will decide (if they can afford to do it) to carry around a number of different weapons with different factors. I dont see how this is a problem. It could even be an interesting roleplaying factor for some characters.
But I dont believe that EVERY character is going to carry around a half dozen different weapons, or that it will be necssary to do so to be effective, especialy considering that most creatures still just have DR X/magic. and many of the more exotic ones are either extremely powerful creatures, or they have low dr numbers.

Any non-low-level front-line melee type will need ways to get around DR, whether in rampaging barbarian fashion (Hulk smash puny DR 10), golf club fashion (Squire, I'll need the +3 Holysilver Greatsword for this one), or via teamwork (Yeah, yeah, I'll leave a donation at the temple next week. Just cast Cold Iron Weapon on my axe, already.). Admittedly major spellcasters will just use magic, and rogues just won't try to fight things with significant DR, but it's a problem.

Sig till your hearts content.

Here's to trying to start a movement (synonymous with bowel) singlehandedly to eliminate that word from the boards!

Turning the druid further into a walking menagerie, the "furry" class, with spontaneous summoning. Gah, that's not a druid, it's a Circusmaster. Should have been spontaneous healing like the cleric.

On DR... remember that a little DR goes a long way.

If you're facing a creature with a DR of 10 or 15 you can't bypass (or most of your party can't bypass), that alone will skew the CR of the encounter. Even DR 5 can have quite an impact. 10 or 15 pts may not sound like a lot at high levels but that is still going to effectively cut the average front-line fighters' damage in half (or more).

~shrugs~ I disagree. There are few things with "exotic" DR, and most of them are the sort of things that one will know one is going to be fighting in advance(fiends etc). The most I could see is warriors keeping a weapon of each of the 3 materials handy, and eventualy getting one of them "holied"(something they were liable to do anyway especialy if there concept or campaign involves a lot of fiends).
There arent going to be "material" spells, only an alignment one. So truthfuly, a weapon of each of the 3 materials is all one is likely to need.
And your making what I feel is an incorrect assumption that EVERY player of a melee oriented character is going to want a weapon capable of bypassing any sort of DR on their person at all times.
And again, I dont see where any of that is actualy neccsarily a problem.
