Worst Character Name

Ok,
I rolled up an evoker, and settled on the last name of Byrne. not very original, I'll admit, but I liked it. I was stuck for a long time coming up with a first name though.

So, I think I've got as good a name as I'm likely to come up with,
and I'm crushed when I tell the group my name and they all burst out laughing.

Somehow I never realized how Roland Byrne would sound when said aloud.

I also have a kukri wielding halfling named Huckabee (I kept hearing news stories about governor Huckabee on the radio and it just fit). I never could come up with a last name that fit, and kind of got Groinsplitter / Hacker / slasher hung on me by default.

This name is so familiar, but I can't remember the source!

I know Gygax used "Fonkin" as an elvish endearment in Saga of Old City... but I know I've heard the name!

A PC who named his character...

Hard Balls.

He was a member of elven royalty and I could not (as a DM) bear to give all members of that family the last name "Balls"...so I came up with "Huard Valz of the House Sholnorris".

Pretty fancy for on the spot name to remedy the situation don't you think?!

The last campaign I played in had an NPC (a halfling elder) named *deep breath* Farbelinsumastarubimniastarbelovium the 37th.

This campaign also had NPCs with such names as;
Fargot Rox - A ranger.
Gael - An elven druid who the other players usually called Gay Elf instead.
Master Wibberflap - Innkeeper of The Tipsy Squirrel
And a family of bitter farmers made up of Hast and his sons Rast and Last (because he was the youngest). I can only imagine that if the dead wife/mother had ever been referred to by name, it would have been Past.

At the moment I can't remember the PCs' names, but some of those were rather "Interesting" as well.

Grodin Shieldbiter, who gained his surname after he participated in a village tournament that held wooden sword fighting bouts. The 0-level peasant farmer not only whittled down the 3rd level Grodin's hit points to near-zero with a sword, but finally knocked him out by shield bashing him in the jaw.

And the legend of the Shieldbiter grew from there...
