[WOT Adventure] OOC Thread 2

Its regular channeling, but I was trying to stay more by the book, as there are things in the game which contradict the books, like only 1 person may bond a target a warder, no bonding channelers, healing weaves can affect the caster, Aiel bucklers are just weights and decorations to wear. Seems odd how WOTC is changing stuff on purpouse, odd and disrespectful.

Most of the changes from the novels seem more like one of
1) The authors didn't read Winter's Heart
or 2) Concessions to make the game more playable

If you haven't read WH, allowing multiple people to bond the same person would seem silly; I certainly didn't think RJ was going to allow that.

Since Rand and Alanna's bond works oddly (and this is evident within the same chapter Alanna bonded him), it's a lot simpler to disallow bonding channelers than to come up with special rules for a very unusual case, especially since RJ might not want to give away details that he hasn't written in the novels yet.

Allowing self-healing is a straight-out concession to playability; if we didn't have two channelers in this game, I'd go by the rulebook on this one. And I've never seen fatigue mechanics that work well; so the all-or-nothing (except for overchanneling)approach doesn't bother me.

Aiel Bucklers being 'just decorations' is kind of odd, but it's also odd that armor isn't worth much for Gareth Byrne (who's obviously a high-level armsman/commander, and wears armor all the time). It's a consequence of giving out class-based Defense bonuses; Armsmen are the only class that can really justify having Armor Compatibility.

I don't like the Wise One as written (a class approriate for two people in the novels), but I think they did it that way so they could write up one PrC instead of two (if I allowed Aiel characters, I'd write my own PrCs, or use someone else's fan-created PrCs). And if you're not someone who obsesses over the novels (like, say, me), Amys is the most prominent Wise One, and she is a channeling dreamwalker, so you might not remember that Melanie is the only other one.

Unless you REALLY, REALLY, Really want me to go to all or nothing I'll keep going the way I have been. That is, once everything but her 0 level weaves are gone, she is close to exhaustion, once she uses her 0 level weaves in that state she is exhausted, and so on, working her way to unconsciousness if she over channels a few times succesfully, or if she fails probably in addition to the chart.

:) look at the reaction she is getting! its not beyod her to play it up to get the guys to um... dote on her like Yuri is seemig to do now. Sirsei is soo great at flirting, and being seductive, I geuss Shalimar would settle with apearing vulnerable and needing them. She might not like it too much, but eventually she will realize its ok not to act like your as tough as a warder all the time :)

Oh, I think what you're doing is great. But as far as game mechanics are concerned, you're at the point where doing anything makes you tired, but you can still go full speed if you really have to.

I think her mother would be disappointed in the fact she only flirted with the one man successfully. A Domani woman would consider it the height of failure not to have Tomas, Yuri, Ashem, Pedron, and Jain all eating out of her hand and doing things to please her like give her gifts.

:)

Yea, I know. I was just joking around.

Afterthought:

Would be cool if Sersei rejected the Tower and bonded Ashrem. He could then bond her in return and they could go into service of the Lord Dragon together as the Asha'man and his bonded Aes Sedai outcast.

 ;)

I just have to say, Shalimar has completely lost her wits. Its all something she should do, but please someone tell her no. Please. A chase seen where the chaser is stumbling around could be pretty funny, but it would be heck on the ego. Not to mention actually catching him.

Have you ever just wanted to slap a character? (not Jain) I mean your own character because of the things that seem perfectly natural to them to do, but utterly without sense to the rest of us.
