WotC acquisition by MS press release (April fools)

Aforementioned press release is ludicrous, sad. For our own longing sanity,

I will hope that this press release is a mistake. I used to laugh at people talking about the hostile take-over ways of Micro-Soft, but this is going too far. This totally proves that WotC IS really in this for the money, and ONLY for the money. I feel my love of role-playing has been but an addiction fed by those predators.

I feel violated.

No mistake here

I'm pretty sure there is no mistake here, but I wonder why the nihilist outlook. This is good news! This date 4/1/04, shall be remembered from this day forth as the day D&D was saved.

Yeah, Microsoft.

Dan, the eternal optomist.

I Can't wait for D&D XP. :\

This spell crashes my game!
This book is unsupported in my game.

Gah, count me out.

You know that there's bonuses for that if you're playing under BoEF, right?
How can you make jokes when I'm trying to discuss something so dramatic ?

...

... there are ? How much ?

How can this be good ? MS will jump on the occasion and literally focus on the CRPG aspect of D&D, slowly destroying table top RPG's. You are blind.

I throw my dice at you sir. And not those little d4's, no, but a handful of rock-heavy d30's !

This may not seem like a big deal to others, but I'm a recovering victim of Microsoft purchasing a brilliant company that produced high-quality products and that I was a die-hard fan of, pressuring them to alter their games so that they appealed to the lowest common denominator, determined they were unprofitable, and forgot that they even owned them. This proves Microsoft is systematically trying to purchase and internally destroy every single thing I hold dear in an attempt to crush whatever spirit I have left until I'm a pathetic emo-ey husk of a former self. First Rare and now D&D. All Microsoft needs to do is buy out the college library, the communist party, AIM, jazz music, NPR, Adult Swim, and hentai and they will own, and presumably ruin my life

Dude, just imagine the xp's for taking out the Blue Screen of Death!

And that event crossover book between the Forgotten Realms and Eberron...I would give so much if that were real...
