Nah, I'd say that nycters and desmodu are pretty different. If my memory serves me correctly, it was spelled this way even in Oriental Adventures. Besides, considering japanese uses a different writing system, doesn't that depend somewhat on the transliteration/transcription? Admittedly it would be strange to add a hyphen, but considering some differences in transliteration/cription that I've seen...Is that how they spell it in Frostburn? Because "onna" is one word (it means "woman"), and shouldn't be broken by a hyphen.
