Would you pay for cool features?

Well, would you?

There is so much crap out there on the internet that I would gladly pay $25 for something that is actually useful to me. Heck, I pay $20 a year for my RPGA membership and I hardly use that! Whatever it takes to keep the site moving forward. :)

I don't even know what a debit card is, let alone have one, and I'm pretty sure that bank2bank transfers are horribly costly. :(

In my absolutely non-professional understanding, a debit card is like an ATM card. It's a Point-of-Sale card, but instead of drawing on a line of credit (like a credit card), it draws directly from your checking account. I think it also involves a PIN (personal identification number) as security.

Again, I'm not a financial professional, and while I may own an ATM card, I only use it at the ATM...

On another note Morrus. Have you considered the implications if someone has paid money to get the features and then starts having their threads shut down or they get banned what happens? I mean, once people are paying for a service, even if the base service is free it is an entirely different ball game.

There's two answers to this, actually -

1) Donating doesn't get you a dispensation to break the rules. having search turned on does not mean that your threads won't get closed, that your own behavior won't get you banned. Nor does it guarantee that the site will even be up.

2) It isn't really "Paying for a service". It's making a voluntary donation, for which Morrus gives you a gift. Public Television here in the US uses this model all the time, which keeps such donations in the area of "charitable donations" rather than "purchases". :)

I have one of those, so what do I do next, put it in my 3.5" discette station, it might fit... ;)

being a minor, i cant use paypal, but I can snailmail bills... I hope that works too... I would gladly donate to this site, even without the extra stuff... i just cant use paypal...

Yes I am willing to pay even though it must be through a money order since I have no credit cardor pay pal acount. This site is worth it to me.

Who do I make the check out to?? :)

If it was a one time thing AND i get a nifty custom title, then sure, why the hell not? Tell me when, how and how much and I'll save up for it. This place is wonderful, and I don't ever want to lose it--and I'm having withdrawl from not being able to always get into it.

Darned if I know how to use a debit card online. As I stated, I use mine ONLY for ATMs. You might check PayPal and see if they accept debit cards.

It's a done deal

I've just wired EN World $25 using PayPal. Whether or not any of the features or amusing titles come to pass, I wanted to support my favorite RPG site.

I've been a member of these Boards (current & previous incarnations) for a year now, and have reaped benefits well in excess of $25. I've gained a few good friends and a wonderful forum in which to exchange gaming ideas. Thanks Morrus et al. May the cash help to eradicate the current server problems.
