Could someone explain to me how a lance user would get x5 damage on a charge without a critical hit? This would be using 3.0 rules.

Charging with a lance - x3.
Spirited Charge feat - x4.
Holy Sword spell - double damage vs evil creatures (x5).

And then it depends on how the DM interprets Rhino Hide armor worn by a mounted character.

Charging with a lance is only x2.

With Spirited Charge, it becomes x3.
With Holy Sword, x4.
And Rhino Hide is necessary for x5, unless there's some prestige class stuff going on.

Yeah, that's what I said.

Gremlins must have edited my message.

Let that be a lesson, folks - never feed your mogwai after midnight!

Edit - ah, that's what it was. I was mixing up lance-charge with lance-crit in my head. I keep wanting to add a crit with the Weapon Master's Increased Multiplier ability to bump it up to x8...

Didn't I read somewhere that Races of Faerun declared that a centaur can treat himself as mounted for effects like Spirited Charge, etc?

In which case that would be an indisputable Rhino Hide combination.

Hey, dont cheat Darien(J M)! You just could have asked me if you really wanted to know.

BTW, they can get 6x against any opponent, but that wasn't worth mentioning because the others didn't know about it.(You don't even need a lancer to do that)
