Your thoughts on warlocks

Bewitching Blast is only 4th level, I think. Not a huge difference, tho.

One important fact: Bewitching Blast and Bewitching Chain and Bewitching Spear and Bewitching Hideous Blow are blocked by a Globe of Invulnerability, while Bewitching Cone or Bewitching Doom is not.

The Eldritch Blast is either 1st level, the level of its essence, or the level of its shape, whichever is highest. Bewitching Blast is a 4th level essence, and so it would be blocked by Globe of Invulnerability, unless the Bewitching Blast were combined with a higher-than-4th level shape, like Eldritch Cone (5th) or Eldritch Doom (8th). This also affects the save DC vs. the Bewitching part.

Considering how rarely globes are seen, I'd rather say, this is a neglectable difference. ;)

Official rules remain valid unless explicitly changed. You can pretend whatever you want, but you're no longer discussing the rules.

In reading the rules on essence invocations, I've seen nothing that states that a feat that modifies the EB applies to the essence but that essences affect targets independent of the damage inflicted due to shaping. (Eldritch chain does 1/2 damage to secondary targets but essences remain at full effect). The feats that would affect EB say they modify "one specific spell-like ability" and with the errata EB is its own spell-like ability, as are all the other invocations.

If there's a note somewhere that essence invocations are *NOT* spell-like abilities I'll concede I'm wrong. Otherwise, I stand by the statement that Ability Focus applies to one, and only one, invocation and not any piggy-backing invocations.

Thanee,

Depends on your wizard I'd say. I know a few that cast Globes like they were going out of style.
