The Dragon Issue 9 was published in September 1977. It is 32 pages long, with a cover price of $1.50. This issue saw the introduction of one of D&D's most beloved characters.

Welcome to The Witcher RPG

There are plenty of interesting ideas and novel approaches to adapting parts of the videogame to the tabletop, but The Witcher is tough as dragonhide and as intimidating as any wraith. But if you already love the series and are comfortable with simulationist RPGs, it’s a great way to forge your own stories in its dark, deadly world. Make no mistake, there is a lot to like about this game...

Resolutions for the Fantasy Hero

Some of you have seen Peter's "Evil Overlord List" from 1996-97. It's "The Top 100 Things I'd Do If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord" such as "Shooting is not too good for my enemies." If you've not read it before, it may help you make your opponents-for-adventurers more effective. It seems only fair that a similar list should exist for the heroes.
Next month Pinnacle Entertainment Group will be launching a brand new edition of their popular game system, Savage Worlds. In a project which was previously codenamed "Savage Worlds Black", the new edition will simply be named "Savage Worlds", and will appear on Kickstarter in October.
There's a new cross-over comic in town, which pits Rick and Morty against D&D! Releasing today, it's by Patrick Rothfuss and Jim Zub, with art from Troy Little, and features Morty asking Rick for help learning Dungeons & Dragons.

Picking Up Degenesis: Rebirth Book 1, Primal Punk

I pick up the first book and hand it to my partner. “Look at this.” I say. Not, “check out the system” or “this is like this game, television show, or book.” No I just hand the book over and let her look at it. She begins turning the pages, looking through the art, and just feeling the heft of the book. I can tell that she is already hooked and when I ask her, she agrees that she is ready to try it.
Hello everyone, Darryl here with this week’s gaming news. Judge Dredd & The Worlds of 2000AD news, new Pathfinder and Starfinder Adventure Paths, Cyberpunk's 30th anniversary (and new edition news), changes afoot at GAMA, classic Dungeons & Dragons module getting a new edition, and more!

WizKids Previews New D&D Mini Sets

Interesting that it looks like there is a single huge creature in the set. When I heard about the spell effects minis I got excited, but then I see they aren't designed to have them share the same space with other minis. I have a need for minis I can put under characters.
A new podcast episode drops! Morrus and Peter are joined by not one, but TWO special guests this week, as writers Darren Pearce and Andy Peregrine drop by to spill all the beans on the upcoming Judge Dredd & The Worlds of 2000 AD roleplaying game. Plus, of course, all the news (including the new Adventure Paths for Starfinder and Pathfinder, Dungeons & Dragons 5e update of a classic module, a new RPG from Modiphius, 7th Sea's Lands of Gold and Fire, and more), we invite our guests to play our favourite game in all the world, and we meet Malach the Maleficent and discuss his plans for world domination.
It'll be available in some stores from September 7th (hey, that's next week!) and most others on the 18th, but Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, the latest adventure for Dungeons & Dragons, has arrived at WotC's offices where Satine Phoenix, Jeremy Crawford, Greg Tito, and Chris Lindsay all posed with the book.

Check Out the Scene at Columbus’ Origins Game Fair 2018

Held from June 13th to the 17th, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio, Origins Game Fair competes for the 4th or 5th position on the list of largest tabletop gaming conventions. It is an extravaganza taking over both the convention center and adjoining Hyatt and is too large to cover in toto. Instead, there were three moments that encapsulated my Origins experience.

Gaming at the Kids’ Table with Legendary Games’ A Feast of Flavor

Legendary Games’ ENnie Award nominated game, Legendary Beginnings: A Feast of Flavor by Rachel Ventura, is an all-ages tabletop RPG adventure waiting to be played at the kids’ gaming table. How does this 72-page, all-ages adventure – available for either 5e or Pathfinder – measure up at the adult’s table? This review examines the 5e version of the game, however, it is also available for Pathfinder 1e as well.
The Mahout (over on EN5ider) is a new class for 5th Edition, a tamer of monsters, a character with a special bond with their devoted pet, whether that be a beast, an exotic aberration, a slime, or even a draconic creature. By Erik Evjen and Mike Myler; illustrated by Joyce Maureira.
