Also, as a 'thematic' thing, rather than an actual Sword, He'll be weilding a very large Catachan knife (Basically a machete)

Jemal...one question. Your sheet shows 25 "base" for WS and BS. I assume that means you spent 25 points on each. But I'm not sure how that's possible. The max number of points that can be added is 20, which costs 30 points. Spending 25 points means you're only adding 19...which doesn't add up to 50.

ok, not a clue what you're talkin about... I'm obviously going to have to reread the thread, I didn't know there was an actual point buy with a max and different point costs for different #'s, I was just going off his post of '120 points, and then 'i don't care as long as they're not really high or low'. I paid 25 points for 25 points, and saw others spending like 30, so didn't think i was out..

Oh oh! Hee.

Basically, 1 through 18 is bought 1 for 1.

Then 19 is bought for 25 points, and 20 is bought for 30 points.

Basically, the point buy replaces the random roll of 2d10, with extra costs on the 19 and 20 results.

One other question, and this is really aimed at the GM.

The "mono" ugprade states that any weapon using it loses the "primitive" keyword. Does that mean that they can no longer be wielded under the skill Melee Weapons (Primitive)? Cuz I was looking at that for my knife and/or sword, but wasn't sure if it was kosher.

Shay - Well, I'm not the GM, but I've never heard of anybody playing it like that.
Why would a sharpened blade make the weapon so much harder to wield? What would it become? There's no basic melee weapon training that i'm aware of (Primitive, Chain, Shock, Power).
I'm 99.95% sure it doesn't loose the Primitive weapon status, just the special trait that causes it to suck vs armour.

Correct

You all seem to be quite busy making characters, which is a good thing. I'm on night shifts this week, so I'll have some time in the wee hours of the morning to check your chars and start working on the backgrounds, so we might be able to get the game going at the end of the week, maybe a bit earlier.

I hope you all remember to buy lots of grenades. Not only do they not require any fancy weapon proficiencies, but they do a lot of damage to a lot of people at once. Hell, you technically don't even have to see what you're aiming at: Just chuck it around a corner where the enemy is firing at you, take the -30 to your attack, and pray the scatter lands it on their feet.
