"Oh, he deserves it," Sachiko chortles to herself. Then she reaches over to scritch Jakira between the ears. "I know you're here," she coos, "I didn't mean it like that. You big adorable talking kitty you."

"Anyway! You should come back in. Suldrel and the others were starting to talk about where to go first. Probably going to be leaving soon."

"Yeah," he nodded to Elsbeth: THAT's what he'd thought too (sort of; minus the 'ill' part). "But then she didn't want ANY help. 'We have everything well covered,'" he did in his best straight-Ameiko impression -- which wasn't even close, actually.

Could she explain THAT?

The young half elf sighed softly.

"I must confess that my understanding of why beings act the way they do is limited. It seems not to matter whether someone is human, elf, half orc, halfling, or something else entirely. Illogical behavior is to be expected. From what I have read, certain cultural and environmental influences will affect behavior. Even among isolated cultures, strange behavior is not unheard of. We can discuss this more later if you desire. For now, we should prepare to go investigate the areas indicated on the map."

Jariah was content to remain outside as Jakira purred like a sucker for a good skirching. She glanced over her shoulder at the entrance of the tavern and shook her head.

“I am all set to go. There really is nothing much of consequence to decide is there? We just go towards the nearest one first, and then make a circuit of them. We have not learned anything to favor one spot over another.” She shrugged.

Looking back at Sachiko, Jariah continued, “You are good at vocally pushing people, mayhap you can encourage them to come outside and we can get started.”

Wireth shrugs.

"If they've not got much strategy, I don't suppose spending much time on our own matters." He looks to the door, where Sachiko went to look after Jariah shortly before.

"Might as well get going before the day bleeds away," he says. Then he turns over and glares at Fastus. "And maybe Fastus can stop stalking Ameiko long enough to apologize for dismissing Jariah before we go?"

To Elli: "Aha: so you don't understand it either." Which was good. In the sense that he hadn't gone crazy without noticing or something...

Preparing to head out too: "Maybe Sachiko'll kno-"

Then he turns over and glares at Fastus. "And maybe Fastus can stop stalking Ameiko long enough to apologize for dismissing Jariah before we go?"

Which took the young man, in the middle of a whispered exchange with Elsbeth, totally blindsided: "Ah?" Confusion: "WHAT?" quickly followed by EQUALLY puzzled offense: "Stalking? I'm not-" Did Wireth even know what that MEANS? And finally, the disbelieving rush of blood to the cheeks (and associated steam) of somebody unfairly put upon: "SHE's the one who butted in!" he pointed out.

Answering question NOT directed at her, what was THAT about? And he hadn't even told her off, right!

Why should HE apologize for THAT?

Sachiko paused for a second. Jariah was such a strange one. So aloof. It was kind of neat though...mysterious. She supposed if she had a best friend who was also an awesome talking cat that she could just whisk out of thin air whenever she wanted, she might not be so social herself. Why bother with other people when you had that?

Ah HA!

"Other people are not cats!" Sachiko abruptly, and to all external perceptions nonsensically, blurted. "It takes all kinds! You'll see!"

Then she whirled and charged back into The Rusty Dragon. They had to prove to Jariah that she needed more friends! ALL THE FRIENDS!

When Sachiko came up to the table, fierce determination blazing in her eyes, she saw Fastus and Elsbeth whispering between each other, and the blacksmith blushing up a storm after he broke away. She grinned delightedly, and was still wearing that insufferably smug expression by the time she arrived.

"Hey everyone! Lets go! We have to find the hidden treasure and end the curse and show Jariah the true meaning of friendship and it's getting on midday and time's wasting so LET'S GO!"

Elsbeth

Elsbeth looked puzzled by Sachiko's statement.

"How are we going to show Jariah the true meaning of friendship and what does that mean? As for getting going in search of wbatever is indcated by the map, that is a reasonable suggestion. We vannot know for certain if it is buried treasure though."

Suldrel chooses to not comment as he falls in line, figuratively speaking. His marching strategy could probably be described as, 'follow Sachiko from the front' . The elf gets up, shoulders his pack, collects his new polearm, and heads out the door.

Jariah was not quite sure what Sachiko meant by bringing up cats. Jakira commented with a slight tone of indignation, “What's wrrrong with cats? I am sorrrta a cat.”

Jariah smiled at her eidolon, “She only meant that not everyone could be like you. Though getting these people moving is a lot like trying to herd cats.”

Jakira harrumphed, “Sumtimes you people arrre funny.”
