How much do we get to spend on starting gear?

Ah, yes. 400gp. I'm usually stingier, but I'm feeling generous. If you're lazy, make it 250gp over starting packages.

I've got a barbarian set up most of the way so far. Just need to roll some HP and sort out starting treasure. So far just have what's given by the class/backgrounds.

Also, I'm up for running two characters. Depending on how many people you get. Don't want to block anyone else's fun.

Squirrels are evil!

Feel free to make a second as a backup, anyway. There will be a basecamp, with adventurer's ready to pinch-hit, so your backups can be waiting there, even if they don't get sent in.

1/2 Orc Vengeance Paladin, FEAT - GW Master

disclaimer: may be subject to change. :)

Okay. I hope I'm not setting myself up. I've heard GW Master is exploitable, but I've oddly never seen it in action.

I'm thinking a Wu Jen Mystic. Focusing on manipulating the elements. Do we know what kind of Dracolich this is? Are we using the Adult Blue Dragon template? Or is it another type of dragon that became a Lich? Or do we know this?

I've always loved Genasi, so I'll likely choose one of them. Probably fire. Oddly enough, a Fire Genasi taking Fire Mastery is rather redundant, so I'll likely take other elements to round him out.

Actually, having a Fire Genasi take Mastery of Cold would be interesting. It'd be like he is so advanced with fire he knows how to absorb heat, making things cold. I like that.

Mastery of Force is a must. Those will be my two Wu Jen only disciplines.

Next, I'll probably take Nomadic Step. Teleporting is nice.

Still debating the last one. Probably something utility. We'll see.

What the Dracolich is supposed to be is something you will find out right away, but I'm not sure I want people specifically kitted out for it.
It's true that the Wizard would seek some specialists, but he's desperately taking anyone he can get at this point. It's NOT the Dracolich in the MM, though.

I suppose I am happy to tell you, depending on why you'd like to know!

If I make a second character, I think I'll do a different Genasi, but still a mystic, just a different type. Maybe an Air Genasi Soul Knife, just to try it out.

Mainly to know what resistances to get, to be honest, but if I'm a Fire Genasi with Mastery of Cold, I will already have resistance to fire and cold. Taking Mastery of Weather would give resistance to thunder and lightning. Corrosive Motabolism gives resistance to poison/Acid.

Or I could just go all around and take Adaptive Body. For 3 psi points, I get reactive resistance to whatever hit me until my next turn. But that costs psi points, and those are like gold.

I'm probably going to just stick with Fire and Cold, though I do need to pick my fourth discipline.

If at any stage you have reservations about it, I will drop it. I am not sure what concerns there are though, maybe you could illuminate me and we can discuss if the character needs a change?

Great weapon master is exploitable in that it gives a level one character a plus tend to their damage which can be extremely boost their damage output compared to what anyone else could do. The same thing occurs with the sharpshooter feet. A lot of dms will disallow great weapon master because of this.

Thanks for that, do they factor in the -5 to hit. I can understand sharphooter because of the +2 bonus from Archery fighting style.
@FitzTheRuke I am more than happy to change it if you have even the slightest of reservations. :)

edit: actually will just go ahead and change it.

Ah! To blatantly Metagame! :p (I'm just teasing, it's no big deal!) If it's more fun for you, I will tell you (it IS, after all, something you can find out RIGHT AWAY).

Right. I've never had anyone use it, so I've not noticed a problem, and I MIGHT not mind it at all. This IS a dangerous dungeon. I'M not going to pull punches, so I'm not sure I should force you all to make lesser-powered characters, I'm just wary, because I've never played here, and I don't know what to expect from any of you! I think everything will work out fine, anyway.

Taking Defence as Fighting Style and Sentinel as Feat

That's great, but if you really like GWF, I wouldn't mind experiencing it, to see what I think. Whatever you prefer.

I would honestly prefer it to not be a potential issue, I was tossing up between the two different Paladins anyway so this makes it easy! :)

I have completed equipment and just need to get cracking on background.
