D&D 5E People didn't like the Psionic Talent Die

My personal feeling is that exact divide is one of the most useful parts of the 5e subclass designs; those of us who prefer narrative/cinematic logic can have the battle master, and those who require more simulationism can have the extremely at-will champion.
I agree, there is a place for more in the game. I do wish the champion had something like 4e stances though that could be changed with a bonus action. Though to be honest I would want the BM to have these too probably.

That's too bad, it was an interesting mechanic.

Wonder if that means they'll work back to something more like the first round for the Psionic Subclasses for the November product, or if Psionics is back to the drawing board.

Damn, I really liked that mechanic, maybe I should have completed the survey...

At least I'll be able to keep it for my games, I think think this doesn't bode well for a fun and unique psionic system if people don't want to learn new things and it isn't like the psi die was a difficult mechanic to learn either.

Well, I may be the discordant voice but I hated the psi dice mechanic so I am happy about that. I am also happy about them been vocal about listening to feedback and what the feedback said about it so soon. Finally yes bring back the weird (mucus) to the aberrant mind lol.

The impression I got from the video was that they’ll probably go back to something like the November subclasses, since he said that UA got mostly positive feedback.

Look, if you didn't like the psi dice mechanic, it's ok. It's a fair opinion.
What I'm really hating right now, is that apparently people refused the mechanic just because it was something new and slightly different than the status quo. That's terrible for the game and for the hobby.

That’s not really what Jeremy said, though. The feedback they got (and have consistently been getting since the initial dndnext playtests) is that the majority of players want to be able to play cool and interesting concepts without having to navigate a bunch of different subsystems, but that a passionate minority really enjoys such subsystems. Accordingly, they try to provide a simple, easy to use baseline with more complex options for the group that enjoys them. They probably won’t discard the psionic die completely because the folks who liked it, while a minority, really liked it. It just won’t be tied to all psionic options moving forward. I would bet we end up seeing one Psionic subclass that uses that mechanic, while others cleave a bit more closely to the baseline 5e mechanics with few bells and whistles.
