D&D 5E Aberrant Mind's Psionic Sorcery is officially the most powerful feature.

Choose a class: bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer, warlock, or wizard. You learn two cantrips of your choice from that class's spell list.

In addition, choose one 1st-level spell from that same list. You learn that spell and can cast it at its lowest level. Once you cast it, you must finish a long rest before you can cast it again using this feat.

Your spellcasting ability for these spells depends on the class you chose: Charisma for bard, sorcerer, or warlock; Wisdom for cleric or druid; or Intelligence for wizard.

I beg to disagree, Psionic Sorcery has no restriction to cast it ar its lowest level as Magic Initiate does.

You always choose the spell level, if you have spell slot or now, sorcery points.
It's RAW. Clear as Water. Balanced? Certainly not.
There is zero chance your interpretation is correct. I challenge you to ask Jeremy Crawford. I suspect you will be disappointed by his answer, if he answers at all. Odds are he won't, because your interpretation is so obviously incorrect that nobody else out there is making this assumption that he would need to clarify it for them :)

Mind you, the spell almost IS a cantrip at mid levels. It's doing less damage than a cantrip at levels above level 5 (DW does 10.5 damage on average, and Toll the Dead typically does 13 average damage at level 5, and then 19.5 at level 11). The reaction to move away is really the benefit of the spell, and only if someone has an opportunity attack lined up. So, great if a foe is next to the rogue to get their sneak attack again against the foe that is leaving due to the spell (though rare since most rogues don't stay on the front line), but not so good if your front line guy has something else lined up for their reaction.
Remember, Dissonant Whisper always damages The enemy. Cantrip not
You can with strategy, for free oportunity attack.
Hard resisted damage and apply secundary effect even against psychuc immunity creature. Always damages its reliable damage.
It also protect the backline against strong onde creature.

Sure. But for every substandard Dissonant Whisper that always damages, the enemy who knows where you are will be striking back with more powerful attacks. Have fun being the weakest member of the party with that strategy.

Sure but if you're using an action to do 5 damage at levels 5 and up, it's almost as bad as no action at all. You'd probably do better to use the Help action at that point. It's really very weak damage.

It also goes the opposite direction from YOU. Which, since you seem to think this sorcerer PC is hiding behind whatever available cover there is in any given room which will rarely be the convenient spot which leads that foe on the path you want them to be led.

I am not saying it's useless as a spell. I just don't think we're talking much more than cantrip power. And, given you're sacrificing using that action for other more valuable things at mid levels, I don't really understand why you think this is so awesome. But hey, it's not my game. If this is awesome in your game, then go for it!

Its useful for help The party to get free oportunity attack and protect the backline. As It costs only 1sp I consider It at Will.
You can use Tasha's laughter spell to Sweet effect to help your party. Its only 1sp. You can Just spam It ALL day.
Remember, The Aberrant Mind is versatile, as cheap If you want or spend a lot of Sorcery Point for Heightein Psionic Dominate Person or Summon Aberration level 9 as Psionic spell.
Other classes uses cantrips, Aberrant Mind uses Dissonante Whisper or Tasha's laughter.
Nothing can compete against this build. Nothing

Want a lot of damage for long duration? twinned Polymorph into Giant Ape. Its average 100 damage per turn.
Or Just cast Summon Aberration level for free 66 damage at 150ft per turn. +12 to hit. Flying creature.
ALL while you can blast The enemy.
I Will Love to see 2 Giant ape' oportunity attack against target.
Its insane.
Its a lot of damage.

Nothing, nothing can compete with It.
