They're talking about the Quick Build section for classes. These are just races ancestries...
Yeah, I see that now. I thought everything was 'lineage' but I guess Wizards didnt update all their docs.

I agree with J-H. Loss of ASI assigned at (insert word for a species here) does nothing to help. Its a bland change and the game is worse for it.

I'd probably say that flight for owlfolk and probably fairies should only be usable in light or no armour, flying around in full plate is a bit hard for me to visualise.

Agree that the hop ability is mechanically a mess. I get what they're trying to do, but d12 feet, every round, in a system where everything is in 5ft intervals? Ick. Maybe make the leap considerably bigger, at cost of making it a bonus action.

I honestly find leaving suggested languages out is weirder than explicitly letting groups be flexible with stats.

By default, most of these folks should be speaking Sylvan or Goblin. It's weird to me that's not said. But again, at my table, they will be. 🤷‍♂️
I think its just an overall focus on 'do whatever you want'. I'm hoping official products back out on these changes, but I'm not holding my breath.
